TRENTON - He was anointed with oil. A ring was placed on his finger, a miter on his head, a crozier in his hand. He knelt before three bishops, an open book of gospels held over his head.These are normal parts of the Catholic Mass when a man becomes a bishop. But today’s ordination of the Rev. David O’Connell as a bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Trenton hardly seemed normal.
