The hardest part of “both” is that the EF is said in very few parishes in the US. Several years ago I did a count of the number of parishes (including missions) in the Chicago diocese which had the EF at some time each month; out of over 300 parishes/missions, there were 12. Some could blame it on the Cardinal Archbishop, but George was not hesitant to promote it. There just was not sufficient demand for it. Thus for many, it is not realistically “both/and”.Why does it have to be EF or OF? Why not both?
