I have seen websites promoting the TLM in the United States. I have seen Mass times, locations etc… I know it’s not offered everywhere, but I guess it’s safe to say that it is possible for a lot of people in the US to experience this beautiful Mass if they wanted to.

My question is, how is the TLM doing in other countries around the world?
Is the Tridentine Mass available/celebrated in South America, Africa, Asia, Europe?

Thanks and God Bless 🙂

In Worldwide Latin Mass Listing the Tridentine Mass is celebrated:
Code:
In Austria: Vienna and Salzburg
 In England: London and Birmingham
In Germany: Stuttgart
In Italy: Rome and Florence
 In Switzerland: Fribourg and Lausaune

I can speak a little about the tradentine mass in Africa. It is celebrated in many african countries but not with the frequency with which it is celebrated in the US, usually the diocesan priests do not celebrate it (one gets the idea that they look at it with suspicion), so in places where there are people who love the old mass priests from FFSP are invited. These are usually long processes and doomed to fail if the local bishop thinks that celebrating another form of the roman rite is a cause of confusion for the faithful.

Take for instance Africa’s most populous nation, Nigeria, there has been tradentine masses offered by FSSP priests in just one diocese since atleast 2005, and even till this date that arrangement is hardly stable. There seems to be friction here and there.

While the diocesans don’t usually celebrate traditine mass and the FSSP are hardly always effective, the same can’t be said for the schimatic SSPX, they can be found in almost every African country, they have formation houses in Africa, they are in both the french speaking and english speaking parts, establishing local parishes with or without the co-operation of the local bishops.

So for Africa it is a mixed story…I doubt the latest crop of priest that came out of the seminaries have ever seen a tradentine mass.
