Tridentine Nutpial Mass, Aperges?

Does and/or can a Tridentine Nutpial Mass contain the Asperges if it is a High or Solemn High Mass?

I would think it isn’t forbidden per se, just unlikely to happen for the following reason: the Asperges is only said on Sundays from Pentecost through the last Sunday of Lent, and Catholic weddings are very, very, VERY rarely performed on Sundays.

Thanks! My fiancee and I are planning our wedding. She really wanted it but we were both unsure. Our priest is on vacation.

Most likely no Asperges 😦

I don’t think that the Asperges can be used for the Nuptial Mass. My husband and I had a Tridentine Mass wedding. It was sung only using the Kyrie, the Sanctus, and the Agnus Dei. The Credo is only done on Sundays and feast days as well as the Gloria.

The Asperges or (Vidi Aquam during Easter season) is done only before the principal High Mass on Sundays.

I hadn’t realized that it was only done before the principal High Mass on a Sunday, but then I’ve never been fortunate enough to attend a church with more than one High Mass on a Sunday. Thanks for the information!
