Dear Brothers and Sisters,

This Sunday is the Feast of the Holy Trinity, and I am pondering Mary living the great joy of Pentecost. Her relationship with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit continued to grow after Pentecost as did all the disciples as they had received “power from on high”. God’s gift of Mary to the young Church is so beautiful to me, as she would care for them as she cared for Jesus.

The Indwelling of the Trinity had been infused into the soul of Mary from her Immaculate Conception, yet Mary was always growing in her fullness of His Grace. When the Holy Spirit overshadowed Mary and Jesus became flesh in her womb, what a wonder! How humbly and lovingly her “Yes” continues throughout her life. She continues to “mother” Him now in every soul who receives Him.

As a teenager, I belonged to a Legion of Mary group which had the title “Mary, Praise of the Trinity”. What a beautiful title and how appropriate for Her who gave and continues now to give in heaven the highest praise to Him Who is All in all, eternally !

Mary, Mother of the Church, pray for us.
Our Mother and Model, may we learn from your example to praise Him more each day!

Hail Mary,

Daughter of God the Father,
Mother of God the Son
Spouse of God the Holy Spirit

Temple of the Holy Trinity.

Dear Bookcat,

Thanks for your reply. In his treatise on “True Devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary” St. Louis De Montfort wrote:
…17. God the Father imparted to Mary his fruitfulness as far as a mere creature was capable of receiving it, to enable her to bring forth his Son and all the members of his mystical body.
  1. God the Son came into her virginal womb as a new Adam into his earthly paradise, to take his delight there and produce hidden wonders of grace.
God-made-man found freedom in imprisoning himself in her womb. He displayed power in allowing himself to be borne by this young maiden. He found his glory and that of his Father in hiding his splendours from all creatures here below and revealing them only to Mary. He glorified his independence and his majesty in depending upon this lovable virgin in his conception, his birth, his presentation in the temple, and in the thirty years of his hidden life. Even at his death she had to be present so that he might be united with her in one sacrifice and be immolated with her consent to the eternal Father, just as formerly Isaac was offered in sacrifice by Abraham when he accepted the will of God. It was Mary who nursed him, fed him, cared for him, reared him, and sacrificed him for us.
The Holy Spirit could not leave such wonderful and inconceivable dependence of God unmentioned in the Gospel, though he concealed almost all the wonderful things that Wisdom Incarnate did during his hidden life in order to bring home to us its infinite value and glory. Jesus gave more glory to God his Father by submitting to his Mother for thirty years than he would have given him had he converted the whole world by working the greatest miracles. How highly then do we glorify God when to please him we submit ourselves to Mary, taking Jesus as our sole model…

If anyone is interested in pondering “Trinity Sunday and Mary” further, see HERE.

Yesterday, on the blog my husband and I share, I wrote an entry. He usually does most of the writing, and I usually comment on what he writes, but occasionally I write an entry.

I wanted to share more on this beautiful truth of God’s Indwelling in Mary’s soul and in all the souls of the Baptized. It is such a wondrous gift! I do not think many of us remember being taught this truth, or return often enough to ponder It. Maybe some do not realize it is taught by the Catholic Church. I give references to the Catechism of the Catholic Church and of course the Catechism references Scripture.

If you have time to read my blog entry, ( it’s not long) I’d be grateful. You can comment directly on the blog, if you wish, or continue to comment on this thread. Thanks so much.
