When praying when do we call out to the father for things. The son for others like forgiveness and salvation. And the holy spirit for others? The holy spirit would grant knowledge as I understand it. Does Aquinus or Augustine speak of this?
 
You can pray to any of them at any point. It is all a question of preference. If you think the Father is more representative of the problem or prayer, pray to the Father. Thats really the only formula who do you prefer or who do you think this situation relates to.
 
This is a problem relating to the concept of the trinity.
I pray to Jesus.
