I remember Jesus breathed on his disciples and said “Receive ye the holy spirit” Thomas Aqianus says the holy spirit came from the son. Then how did the holy spirit overshadow Mary if it wasn’t yet? Unless Jesus as the son is just being used in allegory here as he called himself son.

There was never a time when the Holy Spirit wasn’t. That would be heresy in the highest degree.

The procession of the Holy Spirit from the Father and the Son is a procession which occurs outside of time, because it is an immanent (or internal) procession within the Divine Nature. St. Thomas is by far the most profound theologian to ever touch this topic in my mind, but it is important to understand what exactly he is saying, and what he is not saying. Always keep in mind that the Holy Spirit is God, and as such is eternal omniscient, omnipotent, etc.

Oh, and “Son” refers to the Second Person of the Holy Trinity. He existed before all ages (before the Incarnation). When we talk about the Annunciation, we are speaking of an event whereby the Second Person of the Holy Trinity took upon himself human nature, but there was no new creation of a person at that moment.

The Trinity is the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit that has been for all eternity.
They are often referred to as the 1st Person, 2nd Person, 3rd Person
Tho 3 divine Persons, they are one God.
The Father is called God, the Son is called God, the Holy Spirit is called God, yet there is
but one God.
The Son is referred to as the Son of the Father from all eternity.
The 2nd Person, the Son, became man, the baby of Mary, the son of Mary.
The 2nd Person is not only the Son of the Father in eternity, but also the son of Mary in time in this world.
The Son, the 2nd Person, is therefore both God, and man.
He is truely God, and truely man and has both divine and human natures.
