I’m have a really difficult relationship with my parents for many reasons, I want to evangelize them, but I have really hard time talking to them about, almost anything.

It is especially rough when I snap at them, which I just did a few moments ago. I feel guilty about it and want to apologize but I can’t bring myself to do it and I end up in this vicious cycle of self-loathing because of it.

I need prayers that I repair this relationship and have the courage to speak about my Faith more.

Prayer for Family

Heavenly Father,
Please shine Your light upon this family. Give them
the strength to overcome the difficulties that they are
dealing with now. Protect them against all problems
they may encounter in the future. O Lord, please bring
them together as they are meant to be. May the love
that binds them grow stronger as they fulfill the destiny
You have laid out for them. Grant this family forgiveness
for any sins they have committed. May they also forgive
one another. We ask this through Christ Our Lord, amen.

Prayer for Conversion of a Family

Eternal Father,
In the Name of Jesus, please create an opening in the souls
of each member of my family. And please give each member
of my family the graces of true repentance and conversion
to Your Son Jesus. Through Christ Our Lord, amen.

Prayer to Honor Our Parents

Father,
You are the only Perfect Parent. So often we expect perfection
from our earthly parents and are tempted towards criticism and
even contempt. This is sin. We should repent and ask for Your
forgiveness and grace.

Your commandment to honor our parents carries no caveat,
no contingency based on their performance as parents or
based on their perfection or imperfection. We are simply to
honor them. So we receive Your forgiveness for the times
we have failed to obey Your heavenly commandment.

This commandment is one of our top ten moral laws, so
it obviously carries a great deal of weight in our scheme
of things.

And so we should forgive and intentionally forget each
time they have failed us. We should forgive as we have
been forgiven. Through Christ Our Lord, amen.

I pray that God restores your relationship with your parents and that He helps you to stop snapping at your parents. Amen.

Praying for you and your parents. God still loves you. Frustration often comes from impatience. We want people to listen to us. And if we feel like they are not we can become angry. Consider first that you may have to listen first, to truly hear another person, (not just think about what you are going to say) , before you have any right to have them listen to you. Do unto others what you would have them do unto you.

Our Father, Who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

Hail Mary,
Full of grace,
The Lord is with Thee.
Blessed art Thou amongst women
And blessed is the fruit of Thy womb
Jesus
Holy Mary
Mother of God,
Pray for us sinners
Now and at the hour of death,
Amen
