Go d bless you all, mightily. So, I cannot wait till Saturday to degin RCIA classes and today, Wednesday, I had not heard from the Priest or his staff, so I called the Church…

The only answer I got was from his seretary who did not now where Faher was and only that he’s "going to call the members sometime next week. It is not happening on Saturday. And I’ve been waiting and felt comfortably plugged on and stable
and then the Priest disappeared and how come is it that you can call a Church and there is no Priest there? and also I really, realy liked him but I sensed he had some sadness or heaviness so I’ve prayed for him - but is RCIA going to happen
?may I hope that there may be some kink in the process but everything is in God’s controlans “Don’t worry, you’ll be in class withyour peers and your Priest any day now”?

Hi !! Awsome you are so enthusiastical about starting:)
Priests are often busy. They may have sick people to visit , or masses somewhere else , some visit prisons or have meetings…or ride their bikes for a while !you know , just like you and me they have their own activities .
If you are not sure whether classes are starting on Saturday or not , you may want to drop by and ask or phone again.
You will meet.your peers soon !
All the best and hey ! Welcome !🙂

thank you, Graciew, for your up-tempo reply. Your whole note was an encouragement to me…
Thereis so much to learn… ther is JESUS to know and devote my life to. I think my desire is a normal response to what RCIA offers, when combined with a really good, caring teacher and other folks who have discovered that whereever they,ve been, if its not Catholic, it’s not enough. That’s part ofwhat i learnes as an evangelical for 36 years.
Ithink I better not form any grudges against Evangelicals. That would not be Christlike, and it wouldn’t help anybody.
So, thanks again and God bless you and bring your best dreams to come to pass(especially if they include the Lord). pishajesuis

The Priest may have been at a hospital anointing someone, or at a graveside.
Doesn’t matter, even if he was out to lunch with a friend when you called. they are human beings.

Your RCIA will probably start up soon. Ours doesn’t start til next week.
Don’t worry. You’ll be there soon.

I pray you’ll find understanding and patience that priests often have hundreds of families to minister to–baptisms, illness, confessions, weddings, education, problem-solving, funerals and much, much. much more.
Also, I think it’s important to consider that both the RCIA team and our priests can encourage you to listen to God’s call to you, and to seek understanding of the Word and Way of our Lord Jesus Christ, but in the end you must develop your own conscience, with help from all the Holy people you can find, and follow Jesus as closely as you can. We will keep you in our prayers.

Yeah man. Chill. RCIA happens at most parishes on a yearly schedule. Priests are often overworked, and they’re people too, so they’re not perfect. Get used to the imperfection in the Church. Catholics aren’t perfect, but they’re working toward it.
