ROMANS 8:9-11
9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.
10 And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.

The Spriit of God, the Spirit of Christ, Christ in us, the Spirit of Him who raised Christ from the dead all within us
Spirit…not Christ…not the humanity of Christ.

Again, how does one get the Spirit of God in them? This tells us IF, but I am asking HOW?

How does one know Christ is in them?

These passages clearly state too that the Spirit and Christ are separate.

The Spirit who raised Jesus…again…separate entities.

1CORINTHIANS 3:16-17
16 Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
17 If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are.

We are the temple of God the Spirit of God dwells in us.Remember Jesus said that God is Spirit!
Your point being?

The Spirit of God…this we agree on.

Remember, Jesus now has a human body.

2CORINTHIANS 6:16-18
16 And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you* are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will dwell in them And walk among them. I will be their God, And they shall be My people.”+
17 Therefore “Come out from among them And be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you.”*
18 “I will be a Father to you, And you shall be My sons and daughters, Says the Lord Almighty.”*

Here God says He will dwell in us
Again,
I will ask, again, how do we get God to dwell in us?

Are you saying the Trinity is not three distinct persons?

Can God not dwell in us in different ways?

2CORINTHIANS 13:5-6
5 Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?–unless indeed you are disqualified.
6 But I trust that you will know that we are not disqualified.

Jesus is in us who believe.
From my stand-point, the early Christians believed Jesus when HE said “This is My Body” and they knew that Jesus was in them because they received Him; Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity in Holy Communion.

You say, “Jesus is in us who believe.” How does this verse say this?
Maybe I am not reading it the way you are?

GALATIANS 2:20
20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me, the life I now live I live by faith in Christ who loved me and gave Himself for me.

Christ lives in me.
How do you know they are not referring to having received Him in Holy Communion?

How does one become crucified for Christ?

GALATIANS 4:19
19 My little children, for whom I labor in birth again until Christ is formed in you,

Christ in us

COLOSSIANS 1:27
26 the mystery which has been hidden from ages and from generations, but now has been revealed to His saints.
27 To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which F4 is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

1JOHN 4:4
4 You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.

EPHESIANS 3:19-20
19 to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,

We are to be filled with the fullness of God
Please expound upon the verses.

Are you saying that the Jesus and the Holy Spirit are not different?

That if we receive one we automatically get the other?

COLOSSIANS 2:9-10
9 For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, 10 and you have been given fullness in Christ, who is the head over every power and authority.

Christ in us is all the fullness of the Diety
Bodily form…

How does one receive the bodily form of Christ?
Not just the Spiritual form…

How come every english bible reads: St. Mark for example14:22"…and said"Take, this IS my body"…even the alledgley inspired KJV says the same words, now the KJV being an “inspired” version of the word of God should have the supposed correct meaning as in “take, this represents my body”…but no they all say IS, IS, IS, IS,…what part of IS do you not understand Hisalone?as a side note even the orginal KJV refered to the writers of the Gospels as saints…

So, then, is Jesus in everyone? Even non-believers?
Jesus prayed that we may be one, but clearly the variety of Christianity does not reflect this prayer.

How do we know Jesus is in us?

Does this verse tell us how we will know Jesus is in us?

How is Jesus in us?
Jesus is in those that believe.

I dont want to be sidetracked but we are one in Christ.

By faith we know Jesus is in us. He told us so. After you have recieved Christ there is another entitiy inside you (Christ) those that believe know this entity is not of themselves but is in fact Christ.

Jesus is in us Soul and Spirit.

Romans 10:
9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

Your point being?

The Spirit of God…this we agree on.

Remember, Jesus now has a human body.
So why do you look outside of your being for Christ when He says He is inside those that believe.
Why do you go to a temple made by human hands to worship God when He is not there?

Again,
I will ask, again, how do we get God to dwell in us?

Are you saying the Trinity is not three distinct persons?

Can God not dwell in us in different ways?
Abraham entered into Gods Covenant by faith.
Moses entered into Gods covenant by faith.
David entered into Gods covenant by faith.
We are to enter into Gods new covenant by faith.

If you believe God dwells in us why do you mock Him by worshipping a temple made of hman hands?

From my stand-point, the early Christians believed Jesus when HE said “This is My Body” and they knew that Jesus was in them because they received Him; Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity in Holy Communion.

You say, “Jesus is in us who believe.” How does this verse say this?

Paul is saying that Jesus Christ is in us. Why do you look outside yourself for Him/

How do you know they are not referring to having received Him in Holy Communion?

How does one become crucified for Christ?
Then you would reiceve Communion once and then Christ would be in you and there would be no more need for communion.
Since communion is a remembrance of Christ and what he did for us we do it continually.

We become crucified with Christ when we put to death our flesh nature.

Again each of these many scriptures tell us that it is Christ/the Spirit / or the fullness of God who lives inside us.
Peter says to sanctify the Lord God who is in you.
Do you acknowledge the presence of God in youby seperating it from everything else thats in there?
Do you believe that God is in you ? seperate Him? and then give God who abides in you the glory and honor due Him?

Bodily form…

How does one receive the bodily form of Christ?
Not just the Spiritual form…
It says here that the fullness of God in bodily form is in Christ. That is why Jesus said why do ask to see the Father have you not seen me?

Do not twist the scripture.

The writters of the gospels were indeed saints.
Jesus said I am the sheepgate, I am the door, I am the true vine,

What part of I am do you not understand?

Jesus is in those that believe.

I dont want to be sidetracked but we are one in Christ.

By faith we know Jesus is in us. He told us so. After you have recieved Christ there is another entitiy inside you (Christ) those that believe know this entity is not of themselves but is in fact Christ.

Jesus is in us Soul and Spirit.
What about Jesus in us Body and Blood? You do believe He has a body right? How do I receive this aspect of God?
Romans 10:
9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
This talks about salvation…not having Christ in us.
So why do you look outside of your being for Christ when He says He is inside those that believe.
Why do you go to a temple made by human hands to worship God when He is not there?
So, are you saying once I walk in a Temple, God is not there? Based on your statements, God should still be there, even if He is not there in the way those who believe in the True Presence believe He is there. Also, since your house and bed are man made, can’t I say the same thing about you?

I must state, I am not against focusing on God as He dwells in us, by for me, faith life is more dynamic than being alone with Him.

I look outside myself just as much as Thomas the Apostle did when He had to see the wounds himself to believe Christ had risen.

Are you against worship in fellowship?
Abraham entered into Gods Covenant by faith.
Moses entered into Gods covenant by faith.
David entered into Gods covenant by faith.
We are to enter into Gods new covenant by faith.

If you believe God dwells in us why do you mock Him by worshipping a temple made of hman hands?
I would appreciate it if this discussion remained charitable, thank you!

I do not mock God and I do not worship a temple. I go to a place where I worship God along with the rest of His sheep.

I do believe faith can enter us into this New Covenant, but obviously we believe differently here. We believe Baptism can enter us into this New Covenant by the indwelling present of the Holy Spirit; where we are born of water and the Spirit. (You do believe Jesus and the Holy Spirit are different right? Actually…do you believe in the Holy Trinity? That would help our discussion.)
Paul is saying that Jesus Christ is in us. Why do you look outside yourself for Him/
Again, I look outside myself just as the Apostle Thomas did. Jesus came in the flesh for a reason, so people could look outside themselves for Him. Of course, this is not the only way to find Him. God became visible, for us!
Then you would reiceve Communion once and then Christ would be in you and there would be no more need for communion.
Since communion is a remembrance of Christ and what he did for us we do it continually.
Wrong, do you only need to eat one meal and then live the rest of your life? I would think not. Just as one should perseveringly pray, one should receive Christ as often as possible because we always need more of Him because He is infinite and we cannot stop receiving Him.

By your same use of logic, I could say that all you had to do was ask Jesus in to your heart just once and you should be good. Are you telling me that since you have done this that you are unable to sin? I mean, shouldn’t that asking of Christ into your heart just once been enough and you now be a wholly righteous person? (I apologize beforehand, I do not know exactly what your beliefs are either.)
We become crucified with Christ when we put to death our flesh nature.
I am glad we actually agree on something! 🙂
So, if it is Christ the Spirit who lives in us, then who was it that Jesus sent after He ascended into Heaven? He explicitly states that this someone, the Paraclete, is someone different than Him.

I do acknowledge the presence of God in me by separating Him from everything else that is in me, I also recognize that God is Father, Son and Holy Spirit and He dwells in me in uniquely different ways.
It says here that the fullness of God in bodily form is in Christ. That is why Jesus said why do ask to see the Father have you not seen me?

Do not twist the scripture.
Please explain to me how I was twisting Scripture.

Jesus said that He and the Father are One, but He never said that He is the Father. The Trinity is equally God, but there is no denying the unique persons of the Trinity.

Are you saying Jesus was the Bodily form of the Trinity or just the Bodily form of the second person of the Trinity, who is equally God with the Father and the Holy Spirit?

I still will ask, how do we receive the Bodily form of God that is found in Christ?

Peace be with you!

The writters of the gospels were indeed saints.
Jesus said I am the sheepgate, I am the door, I am the true vine,

What part of I am do you not understand?
It seems to me, Hisalone, that your point of view limits how God offers grace. The means of grace are various, in my view. The Holy Spirit first comes to us through the sacrament of Holy Baptism, or through the word. God continues to offer himself to us for the forgiveness of sins through Confession and Absolution and in other ways.
Then you would reiceve Communion once and then Christ would be in you and there would be no more need for communion.
Since communion is a remembrance of Christ and what he did for us we do it continually.
One could then say you only need to hear the word once and Christ would be in you and there would be no more need to hear it. This interpretation would be correct only if we were free of all sin after receiving His body and blood once, or hearing His word once. But that is not the case. The means of grace are provided to us by God through the Church regularly to bring us back to Him after we have sinned.

The Sacrament is more than just a remembrance, as the Gospels and St. Paul tell us explicitly, Christ said it is His body and blood, given and shed for the remission of sins, and He encouraged us to receive it often.

Okay I’ll bite (or try to anyhow).

To me, this thread doesn’t make a lot of sense. As I understand it, it’s about this quote:
I spend time kneeling by my bed spending time in the real presence of the Lord. God has chosen me along with everyone else who believes to live inside, to tabernacle within our very being. The Most High God who made heaven and earth abides within me. I do not need to go to some chapel because God is there with me—this is the real presence of God not some false notion of God abiding in a wafer. How sad it is that a billion Catholics have been mistaught and do not know the New Covenant.
Why can’t both be true? Was it not the same Christ who said of the Eucharist “This is my body … this is my blood.” and who said “Wherever two or three of you are gathered in my name, there am I in you midst.”? I see no contradiction between those 2 statements.
