I wonder if there could be a case for “Capital Murder” against the White House.

It’s not even a matter of truth or not, it’s matter of a “news” agency replacing news with opinion and spin. Picking out comments without providing any context in which the comment was made is…well…just like what the sola scripture folks do to convince people the bible says something it doesn’t.

Would that charge include Nancy et al. who all heard the very same briefing? They said nothing. They really didn’t concerned about CV until it became an election issue, sometime a little later right?

5 disposable 5 masks for every family? They can’t be reused. Where was the USPS going to purchase all these masks and with what money?

Were masks even being recommended then?

I can see how it could have caused a panic especially when people would run to the store to buy more and the shelves would be empty just like the shelves were empty of toilet paper, paper towels and hand sanitizer.

Sounds like the WH made the right decision.

Just another story to bad mouth Trump.

They are reusable. Just spray them with some Lysol.
I used a disposable ONE for weeks before the wife made us some.

Where did you get the idea, the USPS was going to pay for them? All the USPS was going to do is deliver them.

At the time of this draft, they were already off the shelf and you could not even buy them online.

I got sent home to work from home last week in March ( still working from home and probably will be until Covid is dead and over on the surface ) . In March, Toilet Paper, Paper Towels, Hand Sanitizer, and Masks were scarce.

Spray them with Lysol? That doesn’t sound healthy.
Well it worked for 6 weeks. Spray them in the Car after use, put them on the dashboard, and let the sun do the rest. But I only went out at most twice a week and reluctantly at that.

I definitely wouldn’t want to be breathing Lysol fumes
8 hours a day at my job. Maybe rarely going out, but there is a reason they are called disposable.

I still think they were wise to block the plan.

Fumes dissipate after a few hours without the heat from the sun on them on the dashboard.
but there is a reason they are called disposable.
Yet even Hospitals were doing the same as me. My daughter works as a Phlebotomist at one of the Hospital Labs. They had to do the same thing ( where I got the idea ). Yes, they actually ran out of Masks. Very short sighted on the Hospital’s part. At the end of her shift they would spray them with Lysol and put them under a hot lamp until they came back to work. At some point my daughter ask momma to make us some masks.

If Alcohol had not become scarce as well, I would have use it in a spray bottle instead, since the alcohol evaporates more quickly. (Alcohol is still scarce just as Purell and Germ-X are) .

In the end, you gotta do what you gotta do.

Now, there is a phenomenon, “mask mouth”. One may look it up, it’s not healthy.

I can find Alcohol almost anywhere. It’s a little more than I used to pay for it, but not by much. As far as hand sanitizer, I just bought a bunch of it online. High percentage of the right type of alcohol and made in the USA. I bought a one gallon bottle with a pump and several smaller bottles, 20 oz or so. Didn’t pay a fortune for those either.

Our church has been open since June and having Masses. We’ve been able to get cleaning products to clean between Masses just fine. You can buy masks by the case online.

I don’t know if you’re in the US or not, but this stuff has been available for a few weeks at least. Evan our schools opened on time and have not closed or killed anyone. Six of my 7 grandkids go to school, 5 to public, one to private, and I am very comfortable with that. The seventh is too young for school.

I find that odd, considering a Dentist and Dental Hygenists spend majority of their work day in a mask.

Also major surgeons spend hours and hours in a mask.

We use disposable masks, we wash them and put them in the dryer, have been doing that for months

It was a proposed marketing gimmick, not bad to reverse course on their “you don’t need a mask” stance, but it did have real issues.

650 million masks, did we have them to spare or were we gonna take them from essential workers? It’s obvious that carpet bombing them across the country would create a shortage with essential workers.

A family could use 5 masks in a day, or it supports a single person for almost a week. Where do people get their daily free mask for the next week, month, 6 months?

This was a really bad idea. A better one would have been a national campaign to make DIY reusable masks, like in the Czech Republic
