Wiscon’s known as the cheese making state. Their fans wear cute little foam cheesewedges on their heads at sporting events and are known as cheeseheads.

Island Oak:
Isn’t this the definition of formal wear in Wisco?
Hey, watch it! That’s not formal wear in Wisconsin. He didn’t wear a bowling shirt. 😃

Catholic Dude:
Tolerated? Im sick and tired of them every year when they have a great season and then they flop in the playoffs. When the Packers are losing in the playoffs I never see Favre angry or sad, its like he doesnt care.
Then you’re not paying attention if you don’t see Favre angry. After playoff losses in 2002 and 2003, Favre was criticized by the whiney media that he didn’t talk to reporters after the game. Favre was incredibly angry after those losses, especially 2003, the infamous 4th and 26 game at Philadelphia.

Maybe Favre didn’t get upset this year because his wife Deanna suffers from breast cancer. Somehow, a game just doesn’t seem important when your wife has cancer.

Deanna is doing well and Brett will be back at QB for the Packers this year. Please pray for Deanna.
Catholic Dude:
Question: Why do the Packers have a great season and yet flop in the playoffs? How do such lousy teams advance in the playoffs, yet the packers fall short? This has been going on for the last few years. Are you forgetting this year when the Packers swept the season with the Vikes and in the playoffs the Vikes were so bad they werent even supposed to be in the post season, yet Randy Moss gets the chance to pull down his pants because the Packers are playing so badly? You dont need to put me on ignore for this, Im mad about their performance just like everyone else because we know they are better than that. They could beat the eagles or pats in a superbowl with a few Favre long td’s, yet they somehow lose to the bad teams. So why does this happen to one of the best teams?
You forget the Packers started out 1-4 this year and had to make a great comeback to win the division, with help from the Vikings usual choke job they do every year. The Packers even lost to the Bears at Lambeau Field, which cost me a few bucks in gambling losses.

The Packers defense was horrible this year. If it wasn’t for their offense pulling out some games (both regular season wins over Minnesota and the Dallas win come to mind) and the other team’s inability to get in the end zone (the St. Louis and Detroit wins in Lambeau) the Packers finish 6-10 and are kept out of the cellar only because of the Muppets of the Midway.

The 2003 Packers could have beaten New England in the Super Bowl, as they were only a blown coverage away from getting to the NFC Championship. The Packers should have beaten Philadelphia in 2003, but there’s no way this team would have beaten Philadelphia in 2004. Didn’t you see the way Philly destroyed the Packers in December? The score was 47-3 at the end of the 3rd quarter.

Nobody is more angry that the Packers lost to the Viqueens in the playoffs. But don’t call Favre a sellout. If it wasn’t for Brett Favre, the 2004 Packers don’t make the playoffs. If there is any player in the history of the NFL that isn’t a sellout, it’s Brett Favre!

I have the original cheesehead, like the one Archbishop Dolan is wearing. I wear it when I go to my brother’s house to watch the Packers games since he has NFL Sunday Ticket. My three year old nephew gets a huge laugh when he sees uncle wearing his cheese! I ask him, “What does uncle wear when he watches the Packers?” He always says, with a big smile on his face, "Cheese!"

And how can rivalries about some stupid game possibly justify any self-respecting cleric in wearing that orange monstrosity ? He looked quite inane - even if he is a bishop. As the saying goes, “the cowl does not make the monk” - nor the title, the bishop.

Archbishops should wear skullcaps, not tasteless orange things that don’t fit.

What next: a bishop wearing Spongebob Squarepants on his head ? Nuns dressed as Teletubbies ? If clergy want to clown about, they should join a circus. ##

Oh no, I think that Spongebob is exclusively for Altar Girls.
At my old parish, one of the girls could be seen wearing SpongeBob flipflops on the Altar almost all summer.

(Nuns dressed as Teletubbies is pretty funny:D!)

The fact that you do not like this does not make it an abuse or that anything was wrong with it.

You must understand. The rivalry involving the cheese is as if a symbol of the divide between good and evil; right and wrong; God and the devil. What the bishop is symbolizing is what happens when you cross over to the side of sin we call Packerland. 😛

I agree! Why any self respecting cleric would wear the cheese is beyond this Bears fan.

Careful now. They might. And then you’ll criticize them for that. 🙂

If we are going to discuss good and evil; right and wrong in regards to football teams, then I would have the say that the 1985 Superbowl Shuffle by the Bears was a perfect example of something very evil and very wrong:D

Oh Get Over It!!! 😦

Sellout? How is Brett Favre a sellout?

**I don’t know what you mean but I’m thisclose to putting you on ignore. Flamatory remarks about Favre or the Packers will not be tolerated! **
Would you still say this? GO VIKES!
