Does anyone know where I can find a Triditine Mass in Japan? I live on the Island of Kyushu in the Fukuoka Diocese. Most of the Priest that I know are really busy all the time, so much that they only hold normal confession twice a year. I don’t want to bother them and the Novus Ordo in Japan is very reverant and sacred. Most women here will not enter the church until they put a veil over their heads. I know that few Japanese would like to return to Mass in Latin when Mass in Japanese seems really spiritual to them.
At the same time, while I certainly respect and give all due honor to the Novus Ordo since it was my door into becoming Catholic and has lead me in my Catholic faith till now, I really do want to see a Triditine Mass. I don’t think this is out of selfishness but because I want to be able to experiance the fullness of all the Church has to offer. I think that with at least one Triditine Mass around it would also serve as good common ground from “gaijin” like me and Japanese Catholic, especially those that are more traditionally oriented. Now I go to the Japanese Mass where there are some foriegners. I know of where they have an English Mass but that is all foriengers.
As of right now, I can’t even write to the Bishop to ask for a Mass or a helping hand in find other Catholics that want the Older Mass. We don’t have a Bishop here and haven’t had one for 2 years now at least.
