Hey everyone!

I’m hoping you can help me on this as so far my search has been fruitless!

At my parish, after Communion, the organist always sings “O Savior Precious Savior”.
The first verse goes like this:

O Savior, precious Savior,
Whom, yet unseen, we love;
O Name of might and favor,
All other names above.
We worship Thee, we bless Thee,
To Thee, O Christ, we sing;
We praise Thee and confess Thee,
Our holy Lord and King.

For me, this is one of those heart-swell songs. It just makes me so happy to hear and it is very beautiful. The only problem is, I can’t find a recording of it anywhere! Whenever I find a Catholic version of this song, the melody and/or the words are always different. For the version I am looking for, the words are sung to the melody of Gustav Holst’s “Jupiter” (from “The Planets). A link to it can be found here: youtube.com/watch?v=Nz0b4STz1lo (for the melody, go to 2:54-4:40).

Thank you SO much for your help! Also, side-note, if you want to listen to something awesome, “The Planets” is a good place to start! 👍

I remember this…one of my previous Pastors wanted this version sung for his installation Mass…but the lyrics were quite different…same melody.
I can’t remember what it was for anything. I remember it took me forever to teach it to the choir though…
Now it’s going to drive me crazy, LOL

O GOD TO THEE ALL PRAISING!

That’s IT!

Buy the sheet music and write in your other lyrics.

Thank you, pianistclare!! I asked my organist about it, and she suggested the same thing! 🙂
