I know that breaking it off with my (now ex) gf was the right thing to do. But its so hard. I miss how things were when I met her and things were diffrant. I miss her voice and her smile. I miss all the text messages and phone calls and emails. I miss telling each other goodnight and goodmorning on the phone. And all the cute names we had for each other (Baby Sweetie ect). I really thought I found my future wife.

I know God has everything under control and I should be sad but I am. This is so hard

Of course it is. Just because you’ve made the best decision doesn’t mean that putting it into action won’t be hard. In fact the closer relationship was the harder it will be. You’re had a life in which your ex-gf played a large part and each day when her call doesn’t come or you have to remember not to ring her to say goodnight you’re reminded of the past. That hurts.

It might help to set up some new activities/habits for the times when you made contact and if the calls were by cellphone to get a new and very different looking one.

It isn’t much consolation I know - but it does get easier.

Didn’t think of those too - good idea.

bulldawg I really think you have done a brave thing, honestly. It is hard now, but I know you will not live to regret your decision. And, for what it’s worth, you did the right and fair thing for both of you.:hug1: :gopray2:

I think getting a new phone # and new ID’s is probably a good way to cut ties with her and avoid any future temptation you may have in coming in contact with her.

You WILL get through this. I have been down the same path. I ended up finding someone without even trying. She was nothing like any other girl I knew or even imagined being with. We have been married for 13 years.

I know exactly how you feel… 😦
My phone is terribly silent since I left my bf. He used to write me messages until I fell a sleep and even then he would continue writing to me about his love… hehe… 😦
Doing the right thing sometimes stinks!

:hug1:

I am in the same stage you are at.

The first day, out of habit I sent one at night saying “I love you. goodbye not forever.” because we had always said that we would never say goodbye forever.

It hurts to know that he found someone else already, but I need to keep praying for the both of us to find true happiness, whatever that may be.

If you need someone to pray with, send me a message.

Stay strong and God Bless,
Roxanna

Yeah we would never say “bye” or “goodbye” we always said those where to permanent sounding. So we always said “ttyl” or “see you later”

You are in mourning. That is natural. We always mourn when we lose someone important.

You’ll get through it. And it will hurt like hell.

Maybe the Song of Songs would be a good read right now?

I have had two serious girlfriends in the past, both of whom I cared about very much, but I knew I simply wasn’t being called to that lifestyle by God and moved on. It wasn’t easy, but what makes it easier is knowing all of us always have the most perfect lover, the most perfect not-so-secret admirer. God loves us more than we could ever love ourselves or anyone else.

I know that simple fact, in-and-of-itself, doesn’t make things any easier right-off-the-bat, but try remembering that, maybe read a bit of the Song of Songs, and try to be positive.

This too shall pass.

No, that’s probably a really good idea. But take it slow. You don’t want to put the baggage from this heartache on anyone else. Be friends with people, but don’t get involved with a new girlfriend until you are ready to view her directly and honestly, not through the lens of what you are going through now.
