Tubal ligation before conversion - what to do?

My friend had her tubes tied before she converted to Catholicism. She asked me what the Church taught on this the other day. I didn’t know what to say. What does the Church recommend? Is it sinful for her and her husband to have sex? Should she get it reversed? I don’t even know if she would be accepted for that procedure, and she is about forty.

The Church does not require reversal or abstaining from relations.

Reversal is voluntary based on the couple’s discernment in prayer regarding what God wants them to do.

Some couples also voluntarily practice NFP, meaning they chart the woman’s cycle and abstain during the fertile time, as a means of reparation for the tubal. BUT, this is in no way required.

nothing to do, what is done is done, just as with any life decision made before conversion. You come into the Church as you are, through a process of conversion, which helps you see your past mistakes and sins clearly, repent, know those sins are erased in baptism or sacramental confession, and move on. No, there is no other requirement or barrier.
