Tue (Dec 8) Mass readings (Adam and Eve sin / consequences / Mary's perpetual virginity)

Sorry Its Matthew 1:25 my finger must have hit the wrong Key and I didn’t catch it.

Deut. 21:15-17 says, 15 “Suppose a man has 2 wives, but he loves one and not the other, and both gave him a sons. And suppose the firstborn son is the son of the wife he does not love, 16 When the man divides the inheritance, he may not give the larger inheritance to his younger son, the son of the wife he loves. 17 He must give the customary double portion to his oldest son, who represents the strength of his father’s manhood and who owns the rights of the firstborn son, even though he is the son of the wife his father does not love.”
With this you are saying one of a few things about Mary and Joseph. 1. Joseph had more the one wife and loved Mary and not the other. 2. Jesus had other brothers and he was the fristborn of the wife that Joseph loved and would get the inheritance of Joseph. What I don’t see it the word “only son” all I see here is there are other brothers present. Now it would make sense that if Jesus was the only son he would automaticly get the inheritance.

Even the word firstborn could mean and probably does mean that Mary had other children besides Jesus, otherwise it would say the only child.
I don’t see how this proves your point.

hmmm… how to get more people to read the mass readings…?? :hmmm:

maybe i should begin every title with the word SEX or something… 🤷

so people are interested in the perpetual virginity of Mary… but other than that they don’t want to hear the daily Mass readings??? hmmmmm:hmmm::coffeeread::hmmm::confused:

i KNOW that the Roman Catholic Church is the Church Christ established on EArth…

i have many reasons for KNOWING this… but i am not sure you would accept any of them so… uh… I’m tired and stuff… :sleep:
 
It’s been a while since I was last here, but i figured i might as well throw my last 2 cents in, if anyone were to return. Anyways, I still strongly believe that Mary is a Perpetual Virgin. As it says in Luke 2:7 “and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son…” which might possibly imply (emphasis on the possibly) that she gave birth to more children. But a little further on in Luke…

Luke 2:22-23 “When the time of their purification according to the Law of Moses had been completed, Joseph and Mary took him to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord, as it is written in the Law of the Lord, ‘Every firstborn male is to be consecrated to the Lord’”

Now speculating here, what would happen if Mary was killed days after her son, Jesus, was consecrated? I mean, she consecrated her firstborn son, what about the second born, third born, etc? Did the magically come out of nowhere? The term firstborn simply means the first to be born, whether or not there were more births or not. First is first is first.
