I feel selfish for asking, but I am asking for prayers.

Yesterday a doctor found a tumor inside me (I don’t even want to say where). This coming Monday, they will take out some or all of it and biopsy it. It could be cancerous, it could be benign - I don’t know and won’t know for at least a week.

My mind has been on the rollercoaster since then - everything from heroic recovery, to being in the casket!
I know the imagination is one of God’s gifts, but it’s working against me since yesterday.

Not knowing, and waiting, are the worst!

My brother Max, you are in my prayers.

Jesus said to all of us; "Do not be afraid!’ (Lk 5:10)

Put your trust in Him!!!

Sancta Maria, Mater Dei, Ora Pro Nobis Peccatoribus!

Lord, may Max find his peace in being surrendered to you in all things. Guide him and help him all the days of his life to fear nothing but sin. Amen.

max37… I know this is hard-but don’t cross any bridges until you have to…I’ve been through several “scares” myself over the years that turned out to be benign- and have gone through the real deal with my sister several times when it wasn’t benign-but thankfully she received her miracles both times- the last time just months ago …it is whatever it is-and God will give you the strength to deal with it…turn it over to Him-know you are not walking through this alone and that whatever happens you will be alright…I will share what was given to me when my sister was diagnosed with throat cancer last April -her health is very fragile(she’s also had four heart attacks and lung cancer over the years) and no one wanted to treat her- said she couldn’t handle chemo or the radiation and that her only hope was radical and immediate surgery or the tumor would cut off her air supply in weeks-the surgery would have removed her voice box…her daughter called around with her mothers information and got her into see another specialist in the part of the USA she lives in-as they were preparing to leave-it came to me after prayer to have her drink Holy water-well, a version of Holy water…bottled spring water blessed by a Priest…my sister is not as Faith driven as I am-but she listened and did it(which alone was a miracle…Lol.)…the doctor started her on greatly reduced chemo in May to try to shrink the tumor enough to make it operable with minimal damage… she was to start minimal radiation in July…she was very afraid of the radiation and asked in July if the tumor was shrunk enough, could they just go in and do the surgery instead- her doctor said that depended on her radiologist and what he found-so they made an appointment and waited for the results- when he came in he said he would gladly tell them where to cut-but he couldn’t- the tumor was gone!..she still went through a few treatments of radiation- but as of now she is just recuperating and getting her strength back…the doctors would like to believe it was whatever treatment she received she responded to… but I received a personal validation of her miracle and know that it was Jesus…and whats more important so does she… you are never alone honey… trust that…God Bless you

May God surround you with His healing grace and give you the strength to carry this burden and help you find peace in your heart knowing you are in service to God for His purpose-we ask this in Jesus’ name -thy will be done…amen

This may help you

Max,

“Waiting” is a such a difficult part of suffering.

Keep praying and … try to stay busy with family, friends, work and play.

Be assured of my prayers.

Peace,
Kathleen

Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of our death.
Amen

Thanks everyone! I check in Monday Morning 10 AM Eastern time. My wife and kids have the day off for President’s day, so they’ll be out in the waiting room saying some prayers (ok…they’ll probably be on Facebook!) And I have a mom and some brothers and sisters in the area.

My mind has slowed down quite a bit, and I’m not feeling fear - although I’m getting waves of anger now and then.

Thanks again for your prayers!

When I get biopsy results, I’ll post. Wed or Thurs.

Max, as JCnMe said: “Do not cross any bridges until you get there”. I had to have surgery for Cancer 2 years ago, and my best consolation was to lift it all up into God’s hands, and let Our Lady wrap her arms around and you your family for peace and comfort.

My prayers are with you. J.

Father I ask that you give your child peace…that you will give comfort and strength. Father sometime’s the not knowing is so difficult please help him to find the answers that he needs to not only bring comfort but to be able if necessary treat this tumor. I thank you for all of your graces that you give us.

Amen

Max, just remember, cancer isn’t the end of the world anymore. As a cancer survivor, I can assure you it is not the end of the world. My prayers go with you.

Dear Lord, give Max the graces and courage to face this trial in his life. Allow him to grow closer to you. Also, give his family and friends the graces they need to face this time of trial. In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.

OK. I wanted to know, and so now I know.

I had the biopsy / colonoscopy yesterday- I have rectal cancer.

I’m staying as positive as possible. As someone said already, cancer is not the end of the world and God willing, I’ll beat this and be around to raise my girls for years.

Max, I am going to continue to pray for you …

Max37-Bless your heart-now you have a focus for your healing-put it in God’s hands and trust…Heavenly Father,we ask for your healing grace to fill and surround your child (((((Max37)))))-we ask you to make his doctors instruments of your miracles and lift this burden from him as a testament to your goodness, mercy and love- hold his family close as they embark on this journey- give them peace in their hearts knowing you are in charge - we ask this in Jesus’ name-Thy wil be done…amen

Praying hard to St. Peregrine for your return to good health. I had a co-worker who had rectal cancer and survived it; praying the same for you.

OK - update - The doctor just called me. The biopsy results came in and he says this is not the “Rectal-type” cancer, but the "anal type"cancer. This is apparently easier to fight and win out over.

He has said the mass was on the border where the anus meets the rectum, but looking at it yesterday it appeared to be more in the rectal area, so he assumed it was the rectal type. Now he is saying that it is of the anal type, that it began in the anus and grew upwards.

So less than 24 hours ago, he was talking total removal of the rectum - today he is talking about not losing ANY of that area.

I hope I’m not grossing you out. I think the bottom line is I was just upgraded to something easier to beat!

I think all these prayers are working!

Mav37- that is such good news…:)… never underestimate the power of prayer-all prayers are heard:thumbsup:…Now take some spring water and have your Priest bless it and drink it- knowing that God is in charge and your faith will be rewarded…God Bless

O great St. Peregrine, you have been called “The Mighty,” “The Wonder-Worker,” because of the numerous miracles which you have obtained from God for those who have had recourse to you.

For so many years you bore in your own flesh this cancerous disease that destroys the very fiber of our being, and who had recourse to the source of all grace when the power of man could do no more. You were favoured with the vision of Jesus coming down from His Cross to heal your affliction. Ask of God and Our Lady, the cure of the sick whom we entrust to you.
(Max37)

Aided in this way by your powerful intercession, we shall sing to God, now and for all eternity, a song of gratitude for His great goodness and mercy.
Amen.

Lord, look upon me with eyes of mercy,
may Your healing hand rest upon me,
may Your lifegiving powers flow into every cell of my body
and into the depths of my soul,
cleansing, purifying, restoring me
to wholeness and strength for service in Your Kingdom.

Amen.

Wow - Thank you ladies and gentlemen. You come up with some beautiful prayers! 👍

My little three word mantra (GOD HELP US!) seems pretty boring! 🙂
