When an elderly American Indian was told the reason for the time change He said:Only the Goverment would believe you can cut the top off of a blanket, sew it to the bottom of the blanket and the blanket would be longer.😃

As someone who awakes with the sun and lives in the north…it makes a great deal of emotinal difference (if not saftey) to get up and not have to drive to work in the dark.

I can’t stand daylight savings time. The extension that Bush gave to this idiocy as a symbolic gesture to saving something just made it worse.

I gotto go with Indiana on this, but not in my wildest imagination can I come up with a reason why this is a social justice issue

I love daylight savings time!

If we kept the clocks on standard time, in the June and July the sun would rise about 4:30am and set at 8pm. With DST, most people still get up in the light (sunrise at about 5:30am) and then are able to enjoy the warm Summer evenings until 9pm.

Now I live in the northern US where “warm Summer evenings” are a delight. I imagine in places like Texas or Arizona in July, people may be desparately waiting for the sun to set to get some relief from the heat.

I’m down with this right here. Also, the reason for extending it as Bush did was to save on energy costs. Imo it should extend through November. More people are home in the evening, when it’s dark at 5:30pm you turn your lights on and run your heat more in the dark. In the morning, people are on their way to work, school, getting ready for the day, etc. Not as much energy wasted.

I’d rather have it stay light out later in the day than have the sun coming up at 4 in the morning. IMO we should jump ahead 2 hours in the spring so it’s light out until 11pm.
