please hold the harshness and told you so’s for a while please.

Turns out the whole kid thing was a bit of a ruse on her part. She told me today she has been cheating for several months with an old flame that started working at her job. She says nothing is my fault, she just fell for her old high school “first love” all over again that since he doesn’t want kids (so much he lost the two he had out of wedlock) she thinks it is fate. She is leaving the church and me behind. She used the whole argument about me reacting poorly to her decision about kids as a device to make me angry so she could blame me. All her words. She says she wants to help me get an annulment and will be honest about her plans to never have kids, and how she secretly wondered if this old love would come back. Oh and that she used birth control with me for a year that I was not aware of.

This just plain sucks.

Oh and she asked for a divorce today and said hell no to counseling.

Sorry to hear that.

I hope an annulment will be granted and you can put this all behind you.

Talked to two priests that are helping me do just that. Worst part we are still in the same house until July when she can afford to leave, and tomorrow is my birthday.

I am very, very sorry for your predicament. I pray that you are able to obtain the peace and closure that you desperately need.

Joining in prayers for you and your well being during this stressful time.

Mary.

Oh Jay, I am so so sorry for everything that you are going through. I can only imagine how devastating it must be to go through what you are. God has a wonderful plan for your life and while it may seem darkest now, that plan will shine through when God’s timing is right. May you live in His peace and calmness. May you find comfort in His always abundant love.

I am very sorry to hear of your situation. A similar thing happened to my daughter when she married in good faith and for life, however her husband lied about everything imaginable. She was completely blindsided and devastated. The point of sharing this is that he wanted a divorce and she did not. She kept praying that he would come to his senses through a conversion but that did not happen. Instead, he revealed more and more of his deceptions and lies to her, begging her to divorce him. after over a year of anguish and counseling with the priest who married them, she agreed to do a civil annulment, downloaded the paperwork online, filed the paperwork at the courthouse with help from the civil admins, the husband agreed to all her terms, and within a few months and for just about $200. their marriage was dissolved by the state. Then, she and her priest began the petition for nullity in the Catholic Church. That has now been granted and she is free to live her life in peace and joy once more.
Stay close to the sacraments, go to Mass as often as you can and look for God’s hand in everything you do. I will pray for you just as I prayed for my daughter. This too shall pass.

Prayers for you and the whole situation. This must be a difficult time for you. :gopray:

My heart is broken for you and I am praying that God will give you the strength and courage to move forward. I am praying that you will have a happy birthday tomorrow and that you will be surrounded by family amd friends that love you.

Praying for you.
Force yourself to move on in prayer. Remember to pray for her. This situation she seeks will likely not bring her any happiness, and your prayers for her will bring you peace.
God saved you from a life of misery.
Get that annulment and move on, seeking to do God’s will, and remaining faithful, as you have thus far.
God is with you. Clearly.
Peace.

I am so sorry to hear this. I don’t have words to say to make you feel better.

You are in my continued prayers. If you feel alone tomorrow, know I will be thinking of you and praying for you on your Birthday. :console:

O Lord, heal our brother’s wounds and let him learn to love you even more through his times of trials.

In the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, Amen. :crossrc:

So sorry you’re going through this. Do speak to a lawyer, as well.

I’m really sorry. 😦 At least your wife is now being honest and you will be able to make a clean break and move on with your life, albeit that’s not what you planned.

Praying for you, look after yourself.

Our Father, Who art in heaven
Hallowed be Thy Name;
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace.
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou amongst women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Glory be to the Father,
and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit:
As it was in the beginning,
is now,
and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen.

I’m so sorry to hear this, Jay. Please be assured of my prayers and of God’s unconditional love for you. Stay close to Him and He will help you get through this with some measure of peace. God bless.

You are still in my prayers. As I said, I have a sister just like her. It still makes it no less shocking to hear how cruel some women can be. It frustrates me that so many other women will make excuses for and defend someone so heartless simply because she’s a female.

Please get a lawyer ASAP. Protect yourself and your finances. I’m telling you as someone who has seen first hand how ugly this will get–you need to take a strong stand and fight for your own interests. Don’t try to be kind and sensitive (I know that is your nature but you need to go against it right now) and instead be a rock and unmovable.

I second the advice from Monicad to take care of yourself. You already are physically ill and adding this heartbreak on top if it can be devastating health wise for you. You are still in my prayers and I’m sending warm wishes your way. I am so sorry you have this to deal with. You are not at fault and you do not deserve this. Please take care of you right now.

Wishing you a wonderful Birthday!
