I don’t watch Glee… but I read about the latest episode, and it seems very blasphemous to me. Was it really like that? That joke about Our Lord’s name made me angry
I think every group wants to feel persecuted. It makes them feel “hip” or “cool”.I hope Catholics understand that right now, ‘across all media platforms,’ the Church is being attacked, from Curb Your Enthusiasm to Glee. And it’s the same obsessive mantra - the same one we see here all the time.
The Church doesn’t think much of women - because they want something the Church rightfully can’t give them, and by that I mean being a priest.
The Church doesn’t think much about gays - because they want something the Church can’t rightfully give them, meaning marriage.
The Church doesn’t think much about science - because they want the Church to acknowledge the font of all knowledge and praise: Science/Evolution. Which the Church has stated cannot be scientifically proven.
It’s just Propaganda 101 folks.
At one time, the media could be counted as a friend or a welcome guest in your home – not anymore.
God bless,
Ed
It’s the whole scapegoat thing. It’s pretty clear. Hipsters are like that-they want to feel like they are the lonely souls, persecuted for being right and better than their opponents. If someone persecutes or harasses you, does that make you feel hip or cool? Come on. Where did that idea come from?

Victimist Catholicism is also very profitable. Just look at the one-man organization Bill Donahue, Inc. – er, I mean, the Catholic League and all the donations he – um, I mean it – gets from concerned Catholics. The Catholic League web site even featured, I am not kidding, Mother Teresa commemorative t-shirts FOR SALE. Most Fox-network shows ultimately pro-religion (not anti-religion), as anyone who watches “House” can attest. Dr. House has gone from stridently atheist and anti-religion to kinda-sorta believer. Other posters in the thread have posted specific examples from “Glee.” It’s not like the owners of Fox News would just magically turn anti-religion for network TV: it’s owned by the same people. Common sense, common sense…It’s the whole scapegoat thing. It’s pretty clear. Hipsters are like that-they want to feel like they are the lonely souls, persecuted for being right and better than their opponents.
And it’s a group thing, though individuals suffer from it as well.
Indeed.Glee - a slippery slope charm on the charm braclet of The Adversary.
“goal”!?Glee creator, Ryan Murphy, has declared that it is his goal in life to remove every barrier to depiction of explicit sex on over-the-air TV. He was quoted saying, “It’s tough to get that sexual point of view across on television. Hopefully I have made it possible for somebody on broadcast television** to do a rear-entry scene** in three years. Maybe that will be my legacy.” source here.
YIPES!
Really? People? Are we all ok with this? Rear entry scenes?
