Me neither. And in one of the episodes Benson talks about how her mother became a drunk because she was raped, and was forced to have her (Benson) I’m assuming, and so her viewpoint on the show, is that girls who are raped shouldn’t be forced to have their babies. The majority…the vast majority, of women who are getting abortions, are not raped. Second, there is this assumption that babies are only valuable if the ‘‘mother’’ wanted to get pregnant. I agree, it’s a sad agenda that is woven in…I do like however, that they provide some balance with Stabler being a prolife Catholic. Not many prime time shows that depict any positive Catholics, to that point is refreshing. :o*
It’s such an absolute LIE the way they represent the children of rape victims. Because if you speak to any child who is a product of rape, they are going to be 100% pro-life. They are grateful beyond measure for the gift of life their mother has given them.

But SVU doesn’t portray it that way at all…that this made the mother into an alcoholic…blah, blah, blah…

I found a somewhat redeeming feature of the show. If you watch it, you cannot watch Cougar Town.😃

This is one of my favorite shows. Let’s see, in this episode, will Stabler get shot, stabbed, beat up, run over by a car, or my favorite, thrown off of a building. I do like the characters (except for the new DA), please bring back Alex. I ll watch it a bit closer and see if the Actors seem to be running through their lines or not…
And after viewing the show from 10/20, I want to add one more way that Stabler gets assaulted, a kick to the groin by a little boy. Classic!

And thank goodness Alex is back as the ADA!

I thought of that comment when I saw the kick.

I second the gratitude that Alex is back.

Wonder what they have planned for next week? 🙂
My guess is Alex is still ADA and a vending machine assaults Elliot (either coffee spilling or a can of soda shooting out a la Maximum Overdrive

I thought this week’s episode was more in line with the quality of past seasons. Much better than the first few, IMO.

And 👍 on Alex being back!!

I missed this week’s episode! In a nutshell, was it good…what did I miss? 🙂

You know, it’s weird, I never noticed a strong commentary on this, but it seems that it is becoming not so subtle…

The only thing I dislike about this show, is that they don’t expound on Stabler’s and Benson’s personal lives…like Benson sometimes is too hard. Stabler, sometimes they show his family…I like seeing that human side to these shows. I don’t like just constant banter back and forth about a case…I think they could do a better job of intertwining the two, not that you lose the plot…but I think it just might add another dimension. Anyone agree?

It was okay. You missed Stabler getting racked in the ouchies.

Did anyone else see this weeks episode of Law and Order (the original)? VERY pro-life.

*Hi Jenn;

Would you say the characters seem arrogant? It seems like they are overacting…not sure. I will give it a chance, as I like both the main characters/actors. Did you see the last episode where Stabler spends time in solitary confinement?*
I don’t think I’ve seen an episode this season, nor very few of last season, when :twocents: I felt the show started jumping the shark.

There was a time when the SVU squad were horrified and puzzled by their cases, but last season they seemed to become *Super SVU Flying Squad *(do they even need Dr Huang any more?). To me, it started to feel like this:

[Sound-Effect]Cha-Ching[/Sound-Effect]

The scene: Benson, Stabler, and Dr Warner are milling over a body dumped just outside the Staten Island Ferry station. The victim is a late 20’s redheaded (dyed) female, sexually assaulted both pre- and post-mortem.

Dr Warner: Interesting – A square centimeter of flesh has been excised with surgical skill from each ear lobe…

Benson: That indicates the perp is a lactose-intolerant white male…

Stabler: …Who was molested by his Korean-war-vet uncle when he was between the ages of 10 and 11-1/2…

And of course, they are right. *Whaat…!? *

I started watching it but I got disgusted when the “pastor” said he supported abortionists. I ended up turning it off. I’m glad it ended up pro-life though!

*hahahaha ROFL! That’s too funny… :rotfl: Yes, exactly how I feel!!! Like a little too scripted…and a tad bit unrealistic…as if we have conversations like this in real life…you say something, and the second you take a breath, I’m chiming in…and so on.

That’s funny, what you say here. :D*

That’s good to hear…I missed last week’s episode.

I agree. They touched on it here and there in various episodes - I remember one with Stabler’s daughter getting in trouble and him going to see his mother (who I believe was bipolar? or something - can’t remember exactly). It kind of gave some insight into him then. And one a few seasons back focused on some things that happened to Benson. But again, we only get snippets like that on rare occasions.

Yep, very good, and actually both sides of the case showed some very Pro-Life arguments…I liked that they noted how technology and science has changed so much in the last 30 years that Roe v Wade should be revisited…

Yes, most definitely. They did make a great point about how so many of the issues that faced Roe now are curable in utero.

Anybody watch SVU last nite, 10/28? Didnt really care a whole lot about it. Featured SVU trying to out scoop the CIA or FBI on a drug smuggling case… I really don’t care for the stuff outside of the normal cops and regular criminal stuff if you know what I mean…

Any comments?
