Did any of you watch tonight? It was really good–EXCELLENT acting. Finally, it seemed a bit more ‘‘real.’’ Hope everyone is doing well, here. 🙂

It was good, and Elliot didn’t have to attacked, stabbed or thrown from a building.

Yep, before the episode started, I made my weekly announcement… I wonder how Stabler will be assaulted tonight? LOL

Wow, what a fast moving episode Nov 11th was. I liked it, but not a lot of winners out there. Stabler somehow hurt everyone directly or indirectly including his family, his Captain, kid who was involved with his son, and even Alex (OH NO)…but great writing…

I was so glad to Alex back as the ADA, but now I have to wonder what is going to happen. It’s been a while since the show had me wondering like this. Great writing.

I liked how they even brought the drunk ADA in for a scene…you really have to watch every week to keep up, but I like that…

*My dh and I were watching this tonight, and then halfway through…he started talking my ear off about life. lol :o I missed why Olivia was being arrested? And I didn’t understand the guy at the end…

Anyone see tonight’s episode? I think the acting is really great!*

I missed it because I’m not use to SVU on Wednesday nights now. Personally, I’d like more exploration of the Benson-Stabler relationship. A couple of season ago, the show implied Stabler and Benson had strong feelings towards each other…and then no mention of it since.

I missed the beginning but saw much of what happened after the point Olivia was being arrested. Apparently her DNA was found on some evidence (a knife, I think – probably used as a murder weapon).

It turns out that she was being framed for murder. The crime lab expert, however, discovered something strange about the DNA and caught on to some new genetics technique pioneered in Israel. Thus there are two bad guys and I may have the events out of order…

The bad guy who initiated the plot was a rapist Olivia had sent to jail with a dramatic statement like “see how much you’re going to enjoy being a pretty boy in jail.” After he gets raped in prison, he thinks Olivia deliberately set it up and blames her personally. There was a dramatic scene where he manages to get past a guard into her apartment. He is planning to rape Olivia, and perhaps kill himself to implicate her for a second killing, but is foiled by Olivia and Elliot.

The second bad guy is a genetics lab expert who would replicate someone’s DNA to create a false blood sample. After they arrest him, they discover that he has falsified evidence against a dozen people who have subsequently been sent to prison. He ends with a closing quote to Benson and Stabler (that the police successes with DNA have come to an end) like “your free ride is over.” (I don’t know if that type of DNA falsification is really possible, but it sounds scary.)

What the guy did is doable. They took a blood sample from someone and spun it in a centrifuge to remove the white blood cells. The then took samples of Olivia’s DNA from silverware that she had used and inserted it into the RBCs and put this on the knife that had been used to kill biker dude. This made it seem to be Olivia’s blood.

They also ran a guy over with a car and then called 911 to report it as a different car (A black mustang with a partial plate) so that the car search would show Olivia. Meanwhile the guy in the silver mercedes who did hit the guy took his car to a shop to get the dents removed. They had take tire irons (or something) to the front of Olivia’s car to make it seem that she had hit this guy.

Olivia had the flu and could not provide an alibi for her time as she had been home in bed.

Another well acted show without Elliot getting assaulted.

I agree! Is Stabler still married? I remember he was separated, but then I thought? he and his wife worked things out. I would not like to see a Catholic ‘‘character’’ divorce his wife and leave his many kids behind, and then take up with his work partner. That would not be good, if they go that direction. But, I’d like to see Olivia get involved with SOMEONE…she seems so hardened…like never ever smiles. I think they should flesh out the characters a bit more–sometimes they seem too robotic.

Dear cthulhubryan,

Thanks for filling in the details! (I knew my version didn’t do it justice.)

Oh wow, I missed a lot. :o Thanks for this summary. Question, I saw the guy in her apartment, how was he involved with tampering with the DNA?

He was a rapist that Olivia put away years before. She had told him “A pretty boy like you will be real popular in prison. You’ll find out what it is like to be raped” He was repeatedly raped in prison and though Olivia arranged it. So he arranged with the DNA guy to plant what appeared to be her DNA on the knife.

Stabler is married. I don’t think he will get a divorce. If he gets divorced it puts a whole other problem for potential sexual tension that would disrupt the storyline too much. Hopefully the writers have enough sense not to tamper with his character that much.

Thanks, Bryan, okay I see now… I had the show on the whole time, but my dh and I were talking, and I feel that L&O is one of those shows, that if you miss 5 minutes, you are totally lost! lol

So glad to see recaps of last night! I was tired and made the mistake of watching it in bed. LOL I was in and out so much that I was only able to put certain pieces together, but was lost on a few others points.

I don’t want him to get a divorce or disrupt the storyline with sexual tension but show it more subtley. Stabler and Benson are more than uniforms–they have feelings too and a deep friendship. Yes, Stabler was seperated from his wife at the time but all the other seasons when he was happily married had built up that moment wherein Stabler and Benson put each other’s lives before the case. The X-files did this with great success without ruining the story.

Stabler did get assaulted, well sort of… At the beginning of the show, Elliot had to kick in a door, he kicked it as hard as he could, but it wouldn’t budge and he hurt is foot for a moment. He blamed it on his age. So it was the first case of Stabler being assaulted by a door… 🙂

Yes, great summations, I watched the whole show, but sometimes I get lost with distractions around the house…good show…but a bit hard to believe about the frameup and all…
