I totally agree with you, i feel so motivated after watching an episode too, just because the whole family has such a great positive take on life.

It may sound wierd, but I didn’t really notice them being “little people,” KWIM? I was so enthralled with how nice they were, what fun people! I really did get though in the episode where Amy got her kitchen remodeled. I realized how much I take for granted–she had to use a step stool to get to her stove and counters!
We finally saw the pumpkin episode a couple of days ago–I’m glad everything worked out OK.

That isn’t weird at all, you are totally right about what nice and fun people they are. Probably my favorite thing about them. Most reality shows are all about competing, bickering, etc etc and this family is really positive and strong on a daily basis.
It really does make you realize how much you take for granted. Definitely makes me a bit more appreciative

I like this show and try to catch it when it’s on. I have to admit to be slightly turned off by last season’s episode where they went camping and one of the young men brought a “weapon” and Matt pretty much freaked out. It was a bb gun if I remember correctly. He wanted the “amunition” so the boys couldn’t use it. I thought it was a bit of an overreaction. But I’m pretty pro-gun

Matt was responsible for those boys while they were away from their parents, so he was probably making sure none of them were injured. I don’t think it was an anti-gun message, especially considering that they went out later in that episode (or perhaps another episode, I can’t remember for sure) and did some target practice.I like this show and try to catch it when it’s on. Yeah, I think Matt was just worried about something happening. Makes sense to me to try and prevent a worst case scenario.
I thought he was more looking out for the kids than he was anti-gun.

You’re probably right, I guess it was just the terminology that set me off a little. Usually words like weapons and ammunition aren’t applied to bb guns. Either way, it’s a good show and I do enjoy the family dynamic.

Well, I’m 3rd generation with Pseudoachondroplasia. Matt has DD and Amy is Achondroplastic -so, I’m different that both. There are actually defined 200+ types of dwarfism, with Achon being the most common. If you have ever seen the actress Meridth Eaton on TV (Boston Legal), she and I have the same type of dwarfism. My dad, brother and grandmother all have the same type of dwarfism. The rest of the family, my mom, my sisters, etc. are “average sized”.Kage,

As for adjusting, let me see, I keep step stool companies in business, have extended pedals on my car (they are just longer/closer to the seat than your pedals are), and consider the abilitiy to do simple clothing alterations to be part of life. Other than the step stools in the kitchen, you’d find my house “normal”.
Aside from that, my life is not that different form many of you. My husband and son are both “average size”, I work full time while my husband is a SAHD. I volunteer as a CCD teacher and Youth Group Volunteer at the Parish, I’m a pretty good cook, cannot wait for summer to hit so I can get back out on the lake.

I really like the show too. It amazes me how Matt gets these ideas, then, if he can’t put them into action he enlists others to do it for him—as he supervisors!!! He is a great salesman.
I do have concerns over the decision regarding the trebuchette. If my child and good friend had gotten hurt by that thing, I would have torn it down and had a huge barn fire. Instead, Matt and his injured buddy are figuring out how to make it more safe!! I don’t get that.
BTW-They’ve shown a few shots of the family dog. Anyone know the dogs name?

Matt definitely does have a great business sense.
I understand how you feel about the trebuchette, but I feel that if I were in a car accident I wouldnt’ just destroy the car as a result.
They’d been using it for a while and it is relatively safe as long as operated correctly. Accidents just happen I guess

You’re right - the trebuchet accident seems like a freak, one time thing, but I can see Micki’s point. It isn’t necessary, but it sure helps the farm bring in additional revenue.
Wasn’t it interesting that Matt was pushing Jeremy so hard in last week’s episode regarding college? I understand why, but Jeremy seems to struggle with his studies, and Matt was trying to push him into one of the nation’s top business schools.
