Yeah, sounds like a good theory to me! šŸ‘
Not pushing the button caused the first purple flash which alerted those guys working for Penny, which she knew about because it alerted her father who sent the mercenaries. In that way it certainly has seemed to cause the ā€œend of the worldā€, at least as the island people know it. They still had to turn the wheel thingy to get the island moving though. :hmmm: Daniel might well have created the button, but maybe not to directly stop it from transporting, just part of his scheme to ā€œchange timeā€ and ultimately save the island. Maybe originally, he caused the whole mess to get the girl (Charlotte). Could explain why he seems to have so much guilt over everything, and why he is so adamant about no one else, like Sawyer, trying to change time. He’s figured out the hard way that it’s bad news.
That show just gets in the head! 😃 šŸ˜‰
Hmm, interesting. Now, it’s beginning to make sense why Charlotte is getting nosebleeds. Maybe Daniel did something to make her travel in time (like in the Desmond episodes).

Also, I got a funny feeling about Sun in this episode for some reason. The way she talked to Kate sounded a little malicious and her meeting with Charles Widmore was a bit suspect. I remember Jack mentioned that he and the other survivors weren’t friends anymore, so maybe there was a fallout.
I think SHE is the one who sicked the lawyers on Kate…how convienient she called her immediately after, then made her feel bad for leaving Jin on the freighter. I think she’s trying to use Kate for something the same way Ben has been using Sayid to do his dirty work. Just what this is…I don’t know yet. 🤷

I liked Sun’s character too. I can’t believe she’s turned evil . But hey, a tragic loss like what she experienced could do that to a person, just like what happened to Sayid.

Yeah, Sun is obviously mad at Kate for leaving Jin on the boat. She may believe revenge is a dish best served cold. Or she may know that she may be able to get back to the island in a time when Jin was still alive and stop him from dying. She has always been a skilled liar, and that point was made time and time again. All that really mattered to Sun was Jin, after she had finally got him away from her father and his life as a hitman mobster or whatever he was, and she felt guilty for cheating and wanted to start over, then that ****** Kate lets him get killed!
No wonder!

I can’t exactly remember what happened. WHY does Kate leave Jin on the freighter?

I saw this funny write-up of an episode recap:
ā€œIf you hadn’t done what you did, we probably all would have died instead of just my husband,ā€ she says evenly. ā€œHow’s Jack?ā€ Sun asks, and the scene ends on Kate’s ā€œIt’s Complicated Facebook updateā€ facial expression.
Hilarious!! ā€œComplicated Facebook updateā€ facial expression!! :rotfl:

The freighter was wired to explode, Jin ran on deck to wave the helicopter off, keep it from landing.

But if Christopher [Jack’s dad] can come back to life, surely Jin can.

I may not watch much longer. I roll my eyes in exasperation so often, they are still sore the next day…

Is anyone watching again tonight?
I am going to watch to make sure that I didn’t miss anything!

I’d like to reference seppuku or something else bloody to make an exaggerated comparison about how much I HATE LOST, but will not.

Either way, have you heard how much I hate Lost? It makes me want to commit seppu… wait, no, no!

Jin was at the edge of the boat when it exploded. I think he got tossed from the boat and ended up in the water, thus surviving. šŸ™‚

I also have a strong feeling that Jin is still alive. On the tombstone that Sun went to visit, it had the date of his death as the day that the plane crashed on the island. His body is obviously not really buried because they didn’t ā€œfindā€ any other bodies other than the Oceanic 6.

So there is still hope for Jin!

Random thoughts and musings -

Wasn’t it hilarious that Ana Lucia told Hurley not to get arrested (when in real life, she did!)? I was totally surprised to see her though - I thought she was done.

And how could would Charlie look in cop shades?

Too graphic. It seemed like they went out of their way to make it graphically violent. Yes, people are dieing but I don’t need too see close-ups, etc.

What was up with Sun? She seems to have flipped.

I have NO idea how they’re going to get Sun & now Hurley back to the island. 😃 I have a feeling it’s going to be a great ride!

Daniel Farraday is confusing. After the time jump he wanted to get to something solid. They get there and it’s not like he has any plan or way to stop anything.

I’m not 100% sure on this, but next episode I’m going to pay real close attention to Ben. I had the thought the next day that they were changing his eye color. I distinctly remember his eyes being little beady brown but then it dawned on me that he had green/blue eyes. So I went back and looked. First I checked at the end w/ Hurley and there’s a good close-up of his eyes. Then I went back to when he and Jack were in the hotel and when he’s at the butcher. At the hotel his eyes look dark but the hotel room is dark. At the butcher, the angle they shoot it at, they have the bright light behind him so his face is a bit shadowed and again they look dark. Curious.

And the hooded woman at the end. She’s the one who had spoke w/ Desmond when he was flitting around time. Interesting. Not sure how I feel about Ben lighting a candle and that big ole crucifix though.

I think the writers put in the Ana Lucia bit for comedy. Ana Lucia was lookin’ good in that episode. 😃

I think what Daniel did was the right thing given the situation. He wanted a landmark to determine where in time they were in. Without doing that, he wouldn’t have been able to confirm that his theory about the time travel was correct

Something weird really is going on with Sun. I don’t think we are supposed to trust her this season, at least not for now.

Interesting thought about Ben. I hadn’t noticed. I’ll be watching for that throughout the season.

The tombstone had to be in line with the fake story they all told the rest of the world when they came back, that almost everyone died when the plane crashed.
I’m beginning to think that death has no power over anyone on the island, at least from the viewpoint that time travel back to when a person is alive is possible there; but also something more to that. Almost everyone sees someone or something from their past on that island.
Fun little anagram we caught in the last episode: the name of the funeral home was an anagram for ā€œflash forwardā€
LOL! I heart Tivo! šŸ™‚

If death has no power over the island, then why is Ben seeking revenge for the murder of his daughter if he thinks she could just come back to life?

I think the creators said in an interview once that once a character is dead, they remain dead, so I don’t know what to think of that, especially when it comes to Locke.

I think Jin was probably blown into the water and survived. He’s one of the more popular characters, so I don’t think the producers would’ve wanted to lose him just yet, haha. 😃 Plus, he’s listed in future episodes on IMDb.

Yeah, the bomb was at the front of the freighter, Jin was at the very back, waving off the helicopter. He just had to swim back, like Sawyer did.
I still think Hurley throwing himself at the cops was stupid too–Ana Lucia JUST told him not to!! (right before she said, ā€œLibby says Hi!ā€ :hypno:)

Ben and Widmore had it out for each other long before Ben’s daughter got killed, but yeah, why did he get so upset that she died? Why did he say to Widmore, ā€œI thought you weren’t going to bring my daughter into this.ā€
After she was shot by the mercenary dude, Ben told the rest of the group he needed to be alone there for a while, I think he took his daughter’s body and stuck it in the freezer! Maybe it wasn’t that she died so much as, ā€œNow you’ve made this a whole lot more complicated for me!ā€
Just my opinion. šŸ™‚
I also think it’s funny to note that most, if not all the main characters who get the axe, get it right after the very same actors in real life have gotten in trouble with the law! The actor who played Jin got a RL DUI a few weeks before they filmed him getting blown up (or off the boat:) ) Michelle Rodriguez(Ana Lucia) and Mr. Eco’s character got in trouble in RL too.

haha, this is true! I also find that very funny.

LOL, Hawaii must be a great place to party. :rotfl:
