TV: Medium

Hi everyone,

I started watching “Medium” (reruns) somewhat recently and was getting hooked. I had watched 3 episodes in a row and then work got in the way.

I was wondering if any of you long-time “Medium” watchers could tell me what happened with the “re-capitater”.

Allison had become ‘friends’ with this lady who turned out to be a reporter who was writing nasty articles about the DA. She told her that she was going to be the 4th victim, and then turned out not to be true.

I didn’t get to watch the following episode, and it’s driving me nuts! I think the reporters name was J.D. (something) and I’m wondering if she had anything to do with the killings.

*** Spoiler Alert"*** I’ve seen the following episode. It’s been a while but I remember the gist of it. I can’t remember the character’s name for sure so let’s call her JD.

As it turned out, Alison was right. JD was next to be murdered. JD spoke with Alison on the phone, pooh poohed the idea of being in danger, and hung up on her. JD then received a caller at her hotel door, and was murdered. As it turned out, the bad guy suspect was in cahoots with his lover/mistress and convinced her to help him with the murders. When she became a danger to him, he murdered her too.

Then because JD told him of Alison’s belief that he and the girlfriend worked together on the murders, he killed JD too. Alison found the cassette that JD used in all of her interviews and it had the proof she needed to convict bad guy of murder (JD had the cassette on when he came in and murdered her.)

You forgot one key detail - the killer turned out to be the guy they had arrested in the first place who was then going to sue the city but was working on a settlement with the “new” DA. The new “DA” was making an announcement when Allison walked into the meeting with the tape, turned it over, and told them they could thank her later as she walked out of the room.

My wife recently saw Moira Noonan speak at our parish, during her presentation she said that anyone who watched the TV show Medium aught to immediately go to confession.

While I agree that there is certainly a risk that the plot of the show (a psychic who dreams about murders, and uses the dreams to catch the bad guy) could be ‘apologetic’ towards the new-agers, I’m not sure how to take the statement by Moira.

This seems a little scrupulous to me, unless of course you find yourself being convinced that there is some legitimacy to the story lines…

I don’t want to be berated for owning and watching a TV – that is for another thread.
