[TV] "War and Peace" miniseries - History/Lifetime/A&E

Where did this miniseries disappear to? I DVR’d the first two episodes and can’t find the remaining episodes anywhere. It would appear History Channel dropped it and Lifetime and A&E are keeping it, or vice versa.

I haven’t started watching this yet, now I don’t know whether to just delete it or wait for a DVD that may or may not be released.

Anyone know?

From Wikipedia: “War and Peace is a British-American television serial first broadcast on BBC One and A&E in January 2016.” It’s the one with Paul Dano and Lily James.

Only problem is, the mini-series has gone M.I.A. after the first two episodes.
A&E’s schedule for Monday is: “The First 48.”
History Channel’s schedule for Monday is: “Curse of Oak Island”
Lifetime’s schedule for Monday is: Part 2 Hour 2, and Part 3. Aren’t these repeats?

I realize very few people will admit to liking the book, and that the new adaptation has taken a few liberties with the story, but c’mon…this is like someone broadcasting an adaptation of “Hamlet” and then yanking it off the air before the third act. Is this 2016 BBC/Miramax adaptation really that bad?

I very much appreciated the book and have seen neither movie. Would you mind sharing a quick review of the 70s version Jharek?
I found the book a slower read, but do not consider slow and heavy to be necessarily detrimental.

Very simple; History couldn’t garner enough “deadheads” who watch the various Reality TV series on the station to tune in sufficient numbers, so ‘The Curse of Oak Island’ marathon is back.

Commercial TV is all about attracting the greatest number of eyeballs to be exposed to the commercials in between the bits of TV program.

I watched the first four hours of ‘War and Peace’; I thought this BBC production was very good overall.

I haven’t read the novel and the story presents Freemasonry in a favorable light (at least so far) but if you are interested in the Napoleonic Period this BBC series is worth watching.
