I have a friend who has literally dozens of #10 cans of TVP in all flavors. She and her family are sick of it. 😉

Would it be ok for me to use this during Lent as it’s taste (to me) is so much like meat it wouldn’t really be missing anything. I know my family would know the difference, but to me it’s almost a luxury because it’s so easy to use.

Any thoughts?

oh DUH sorry… it’s “texturized vegetable protein.” It’s a meat substitute made from soy. It’s awesome!

Sure, why not? Just donate the money you save, or something like that. Spend the time you save doing something else that is hard.

I love TVP tacos, chilli, and sloppy joes.

It’s all over the place already. My friend bought it when Y2K was looming. She has a family of 8, but like I said, the kids are sick of it. Good for me!

Hmm. sloppy joes. That reminds me…has anyone ever encountered those sloppy joes that are stuffed into this empanada-like casing. I’ve been trying to find them, but they are nowhere to be found!
