Twenty-Fourth, or Last Sunday After Pentacost, Mass Propers according to 1962 missal:

Easter being variable, the number of Sundays from Pentacost to the First Sunday of Advent is, of course, variable also; but there cannot be less than twenty-three, nor more than twenty-eight. The Mass for the Last Sunday after Pentacost is always said on the Sunday preceeding Advent. If there are more than twenty-four Sundays after Pentacost, the Indroit, Gradual, and Communion of the twenty-third Sunday are repeated on all the remaining Sundays, but the Collects, the Epistle, and the Gospel are taken from the Masses from the Sundays omitted after Epiphany.

GOSPEL
Continuation of the holy Gospel according to St. Matthew, 24. 13-25.
[Jesus foretells the destruction of the world, and His second Advent, when all nations shall see the eternal Judge coming with power and majesty from the clouds of heaven.]

At that time, Jesus said to His disciples: When you shall see the abomination of desolation, which was spoken of by David the Prophet, standing in the holy place (he that readeth, let him understand) then they that are in Judea, let them flee to the mountains; and he that is on the housetop, let him not come down to take anything out of his house; and he that is in the field, let him not go back to take his coat. And woe to them that are with child and that give suck, in those days. But pray that your flight be not in winter, or on the Sabbath: for there shall be then great tribulation, such as hath not been found from the beginning of the world until now, neither shall be: and unless those days have been shortened, no flesh should be saved; but for the sake of the elect, those days shall be shortened. I was sitting here so smugly thinking that I had everything prepared for our priest for this afternoon’s TLM, candlesticks polished, altar crucifix polished, Propers printed, etc. And then I saw your entry here on CAF. I thought boy is she messed up. So I checked; WOW I’m toast. I printed the wrong propers and the print shop is closed today.

I was asleep at the wheel this month. Good lesson though. “Read over the propers and check out any possible differences in the calendar”.

We’ll get by this time but I’m on the watch for next Mass.

You should hear “Excita” as the first word in the collect.

I’m glad you double-checked my post here for the propers anyway, since it’s always possible that I’ve listed the wrong ones, even though I do try to be careful!
