helpmybabylive.com (caution, graphic photos)

When I heard about this site (through CAF, if I recall correctly), I went to see what it was all about. It was created by this couple who had an unexpected pregnancy, and wanted 50,000 dollars to help them create a good life for their child. If they couldnt’ come up with the money, they would abort. And they said adoption wasn’t an option.

I just checked on that site again, to see what had happened, several months later.

I must say, I already know how horrific abortion is. But I wasn’t prepared for the photos, saying “Look what you did!”

It was all one big prank. There was never a couple nor baby. I thought it was sick to put a price on a life, and now I’m twice sickened by whoever did this website. They conned over 200,000 people apparently, but never took their money. And they gave an email address to tell them what you think about it.

I’ll tell you what I think about it. They were basically just conning pro lifers to make a pro-life statement?! Because, logically, only pro life people would care enough to donate money to save the baby’s life.

I had to share this with you guys. What do you think? Caution: graphic photos of abortion.

Not what I wanted to see just before bed. I’m going to pray the Rosary so I don’t get any nightmares.

As horrible as it is…
I cannot help but think of PT Barnum…

that was ummm… graphic. I don’t agree with the tactics at all and I really think that is a sick way of making a point. Why not just post the pics with a “This is what abortion looks like” title?

I’m glad you agree…I’m taking that as a lesson of "what not to do’ for my pro life group…

Oh My Word. I know this will sound ignornant, but thosewere real babies?!? What a disrespectful display!! I have seen enough horror movies to dessensitize me, but not enough perhaps to prepare me for that sight. I think I will cry----really cry for the poor children that lay there. How dare anyone use them in such a disrespectful way—I hope the Blessed Mother has them in Her loving embrace.

Sorry—I am feeling really discouraged at the horrors that people do in the name of self-will, and even more digusted with people responsible for showing these children on that website—the final insult to these children

Lisa Annette,
I think that was the point of them making it that graphic. We get the sterile pictures of death from the media. I don’t think the person was trying to be disrespectful to the babies, but rather to show the horrific truth of abortion. It is meant to make us sick to our stomach and make us think about how disgusting abortion is. There are many people that buy into the who blob of tissue thing. It isn’t a blob… it’s a baby! Granted there is a fine line between truthful depiction and well… just bad taste. Personally, yes I think that line was crossed… but what if it grossed out some pregnant scared little girl and she kept her baby? Is it then worth the discomfort you and I felt looking at that pic to save a baby’s life?

I felt most uncomfortable about how they were displayed, like they weren’t given proper respect. I saw it as an insult to the child, but my husband corrected me: he said that they served a** good and holy purpose **to SHOW what the horror is. In THAT way I believe their dignity is restored by the fact their photographs may save other lives—may jolt people to SEE the truth that abortion is murder.

It most certainly IS worth my discomfort (to say the least) if it saved a child’s life. Thanks for the good perspective.

no idea…

But I wonder…how many pro choice people cared enough about the baby to give the couple money to raise the child? It seemed like the request was geared toward pro-life people. It seems redundant to show pro-life people these images…but you guys are right. If it saved even one child, then it’s worth it. 🙂

I asked, because, even though there are many christian pro life groups, we seem to be the largest.

My cynical mind was wondering if this was a subtle way to terrorize emotionally a ton of Catholics.

🤷

I don’t know, but they sound pretty harsh( using deception and telling people to “suck it”) —doesn’t sound like the fruits of the Holy Spirit.
😦

Whats wrong in this picture?

They are trying to show people the horror of abortion, and go by what- the golden rule? or- better said- less than that???

well, you never know in this world. People do things for different reasons—but God can still work through it and bring some good out of it.

😃

That doesnt mean we should roll over and not check into this more.

I think the Catholic Leauge should take a look at this one.

I don’t think the pictures themselves could be any different despite the disposition of the people. The pictures reflect reality–that can’t change even if they were to have posted them without misleading others. It was the prank I was commenting on as being unChrist-like…

I agree. And the vulgar language.

The photos, dont bother me at all. The fact that I cant see what the motivation is does.

I don’t get it! Surely that site was targetting pro-lifers - the very people who campaign against abortion? So what was the point in it since pro-lifer’s already know the atrocities of abortion?
Should they not be directing their campaigns at people who abort or assist abortions?
I actually don’t understand who did this, why they did it or what they hoped to gain. I think it was underhanded and un-christian. I can’t decide whether the people that made the site are pro-choice and winding people up or if they are misguided pro-life campaigners. Then again, maybe they are abortionists and proud of it? I just don’t know. Their site was so obscure, contained no links or expalnations and it was sick.

My guess would be that it really wasn’t someone who had a position on the pro-life/pro-death debate. I think it was just someone who was into the power of it, having that kind of control over other people’s emotions. I wouldn’t send a comment about what you think.
