Awww, Congratulations TreeHugger and Anne, and yes Lisa, I have noticed that, also, my daughter is expecting again, so, everyone - I will be praying for the Blessed Mohther and St. Gerardā€™s intercession for all your pregencies to be good oneā€™s, and all your babies to be healthly. Plus, all of your deliveries to be safe and fast oneā€™s. (not so fast that you wonā€™t make it to the hospital on time though.) šŸ˜ƒ

Hey! Donā€™t forget me! Weā€™re expecting in February. :yup:

oops, sorry Susan, you too/
Someone needs to start a thread that says something like, all those who are currently pregnant or praying for them meet here.
That way we can keep up.

Yes, itā€™s true!

After getting married this August, we were excited to find out today that God has planned for us a new member to join our family!

We havenā€™t yet told anyone yet, but are planning on telling one of our close Catholic friends tonight. This may sound sad, but we are nervous about telling our families as they are not practicing Catholics and have completely different views than ourselves. So, please pray for us!!! (all 3 of us šŸ˜‰ so that we can find the right words to share this happy news with them.

Thanks and God Bless!

Youā€™ve got me convinced! Now would you talk to my husband? He thinks we canā€™t afford the 4 we already have!! šŸ™‚

But seriously, since my only son started school this week and I only have one left at home, I am beginning to feel as if I might be able to make it through another one of my agonizing pregnancies (they are really bad). But I donā€™t think my husband is listening to the same promptings of the Holy Spirit that I am. šŸ˜‰

Congratulations!

When I was pregnant with my first son, my husband was in grad school. We called my folks to tell them the news, and my dad said nothing. DH asked him if he was disappointed, and he replied ā€œKind of.ā€ I will never forget that as long as I live. He was sure that my husband would have to quit school and we would be destitute.

22 years later, my oldest son is still my dadā€™s favorite out of 11 grandkids & 10 great-grandkids (no one else knows it but my son & I).

Moral of the story? Pay no attention to any nay-saying from your families. Once the baby is here, they will become marshmallows. šŸ™‚

Donā€™t worry! We got pg after we had been married for about 6 months. I was so scared about telling everybody, but they were all very happy for us. Kat

You know, my husband was the same way. He was an only child so while he loves children, he had some fixed ideas on what we could feasably do.

Interestingly enough, when DH started hearing the rude comments that people make about more than 3 children, he got really angry. It shook up some of his ā€œfixed beliefsā€ and he decided he wanted more. (Didnā€™t hurt that I was praying, too. šŸ˜‰ ). Now we are having our 5th and time for me is running out, fertility-wise. We would still like another one.

Also, we have gotten to know a few families with a lot of children and have seen that more is definitely possible.

Keep praying. Thatā€™s what I did a lot of for this pregnancy and I enlisted other ā€œprayer warriors,ā€ too. :yup:

What fantastic news! Congratulations!
I was in your boat. We knew from using NFP that our honeymoon most likely would bring about a baby. We were right, God blessed us with a little girl almost 9 months to the day. That was over 4 years ago and it has been wonderful.
I was nervous about telling the parents too, but they were really good about it and just focused right in on having their grandchild. šŸ™‚ You said it perfectly-and the two became one and now their is three. What a beautiful statement of what Marriage isā€¦
