Mental Illness can be a totally lonely hell. In the past few days news has arrived here that two young men I know (friends of Bethany) have died alone in their flats, one was dead four days before being found. They suffered a lonely life and a lonely death and life and death very often visits sufferers of mental illness in this way. I ask you please to pray for the following:

l. For the repose of the souls of these two young men who
had given themselves over to alcohol and drugs in a
desire to escape their personal hell and their deaths
may have well been suicide. It is unknown at this point.
  1. For all suffers of mental illness, especially the lonely,
isolated and abandoned and those who have left this life.
  2. That society and our Church as a community will be
awakened to the reality that mental illness is an illness
on a precise par with cancer, diabetes, heart condition
and all other illnesses and not a spiritually
reprobate condition. It is an established fact
that violent crime per capita is far far higher amongst
the so called ‘normal’ than amongst sufferers of mental
illness. Yet no media headline will run e.g. “Normal person accused of murder” but always we will read if it was a sufferer of mental illness “Mentally ill person accused of murder”. Hence fear of sufferers is generated, confirmed and established firmly by the media. This is a baseless and false fear!
That in the faces of those with mental illness, one sees the face of Our Suffering Lord on His Cross. We are
    the 21st. century “lepers”.
God bless and thank you…Barb:)

**O God, we humbly beseech you through your servant,
Saint Dymphna, who sealed with her blood the love
she bore you, to grant relief to those who suffer from
mental afflictions and nervous disorders, especially
these two young men. Saint Dymphna, helper
of the mentally afflicted, pray for us.

Father, we also ask for all addictions
to be removed from our young people
in this country and throughout the
world. We ask this in the name of
Jesus Christ!
AMEN**

Praying for your intentions.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

God Bless
In Jesus through Mary

Thanks Therese…I very much appreciate your prayers. Love - Barb

And thank you to all who are praying for these two young males. We have a few deaths every year amongst the community of sufferers of mental illness and far too many of them tragic suicides who have reached out for help and found only thin air.

I thank you all from the bottom of my heart. I am blessed in this community of CAF members…far more blessed than I ever had hoped for or even dreamt about…Barb

Totally agree with you. Pray for St. Dymphna to help all of those with mental illness.

Praying for these two young men, and for all who suffer from mental/emotional problems. :byzsoc:

Praying for the repose of these two poor souls and also for Christine, a friend’s step-daughter, who took her own life two weeks ago. Hail Mary… Grant them eternal rest, O Lord…

Dear St. Dymphna, please pray for all who suffer with mental illness, and for those who care for them. :byzsoc:

Praying for these men…I too, have known many forgotten souls. I am praying and wishing this world were kinder to those who are misunderstood in their misery. Lord, may your perpetual light shine upon them in your mercy…

If we are to change this world, we need start with ourselves and the next time one sees a poor person looking for butts in the gutter, perhaps you can spare a bit of money for a packet of cigarettes…and please, no moralizing about the evils of smoking. I was once one of these poor souls rummiging in the gutter for butts…I know how just one cigarette can be a real reprieve and relief - when a cigarette seemed the only friend I had…Blessings and regards…

Thank you so much for your prayers, I really appreciate them at this time.

**I encourage you to say a chaplet to God’s Mercy!

Using normal rosary beads,begin with:

The Lord’s Prayer : Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed

the Apostles Creed :I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven …

On the five large beads :

Eternal Father, I offer You the Body and Blood,Soul and
Divinity of Your dearly beloved Son,Our Lord Jesus Christ,
in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.

On the ten small beads :
V. For the sake of His sorrowful Passion,
R. Have mercy on us and on the whole world.

At the end of the Divine Mercy Chaplet say three times:

Holy God, Holy Mighty One Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy
Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

Invocation: O Blood and Water that gushed forth from
the Heart of Jesus as a fountain of mercy for us,
I trust in You (3 times)

and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.

I would like to add my prayers for the two men who despaired and for those who will carry them in their hearts. I pray for all the emotionally and mentally ill that they find comfort in whatever way God sees fit. My prayers go to Barb for her unrelenting prayers and kindnesses and for all of us that we may see God in all those we meet and extend ourselves as He has extended Himself to us.
