I wonder if that’s standard for all RCIA classes? In my RCIA class they gave us a CCC, Bible (NABRE), Kreeft’s “Catholic Christianity” and a binder to keep all our handouts and our syllabus in. I remember thinking then, and still think, that the Church must make a significant investment in RCIA as those materials were given to us with no commitment from us as to whether we would continue.
They didn’t charge us for the CCC but there was other material there that could be purchased at a discount. (Our Deacon works at a Catholic Book store) God Bless, Memaw

It really depends on your parish and to some extent, your diocese.

In my parish, we continued after the Vigil with Mystagogy. The materials we used during RCIA was a book that followed the year of readings, and we were also given a study Bible. We never touched the Catechism.

There was also strong encouragement to get involved in one of many parish ministries.

But ultimately, it is up to you and your attitude going forward. After awhile everyone has to come down of the “Mount Tabor” experience (refering to the Transfiguration) and get back into normal everyday life and “stir the oatmeal”

God’s blessings

We were given a Study Bible and a copy of the CCC as well as “In His Light” and lots of handouts. No fee was charged.

I bought copies of Catholicism for Dummies and the Lives of the Saints.
