Does an evil act create and evil area inside a home after it occurs? When should a house be blessed?

I would say yes, it should be both thoroughly cleaned physically, and also should be blessed by a priest and sanctified by prayer, incense, holy water, etc.

Not necessarily. Sometimes yes, sometimes no.

If 2 murders occurred there? Yes.

Priests bless homes all the time. It’s not always in response to something evil happening there. It’s done for new homes, or when a new family moves into an existing home. There are also blessings for homes for Epiphany and Easter.

Anytime is a good time to have a home blessed. Certain seasons have special home blessings.

If a truly serious evil act occurs in a home, having it blessed would certainly be the right thing to do.

It’s always good to have a house blessed but I don’t believe it would have to be done because what happened there in the past.
If murders took place for example, the souls of the people murdered will go to heaven, purgatory or hell and that’s it. The person who committed the crime will hopefully repent. But I don’t believe in evil ‘energy’ that keeps hanging around. As far as I know the church does not teach anything about these new agy ideas.

I would not use the word “energy” either. However, I might use the term “evil presence” if indeed that would apply (not that I am saying it does, I say “if”). Such things can and do occur, so I would not quibble over the OP’s question “evil area” vs. “evil presence.” Therefore having the priest bless the house would still be the right thing to do.

The evil presence being a demon? Are they attracted to places where evil has taken place and do they stay there to haunt other people? I doubt it myself but if it calms peoples nerves, sure have the place blessed, never a bad thing to do.

I do NOT want to scare the OP here. This is risky. So I’ll proceed with caution.

The answer is yes. They are both attracted to such places and sometimes the evil acts occur after they (or it) arrive. Did you consider that maybe an evil presence (ie demon) might cause an evil act or at least somewhat contribute to it if not outright cause it?

Again, I do not want to cause undue alarm to the OP. I am not saying that such a thing is happening. The question itself might be entirely hypothetical.

Contact the local priest and have the place blessed.
