Tylenol Ad

That ad gave me a headache…but I won’t be taking Tylenol for it! Thanks for sharing the ad- another company to boycott. Sigh
 
Good for me the generic is usually way cheaper anyway. 😉

(Plus it doesn’t work for me anymore, which makes any headaches during pregnancy a real trial, as acetaminophen is generally the only pain reliever considered safe during pregnancy. 😦 )
 
I thought I saw something weird on TV. Glad to know I’m not going crazy.
 
What does all that stuff in the ad have to do with selling pain relievers?
 
Goodness! All my life I thought I knew what constituted a family. I most have missed this along my travels in life. I better go back to school. 😃 Wait school probably teaches. No, this is Hollywood at its finest. :eek: Good Grief. I need an Aspirin.:rolleyes:
 
A Wells Fargo Bank ad on TV (NY - Philly area) shows two women telling a little girl “We’re going to be your mommies!” Huffington Post called it a “Sweet lesbian ad.”

Blecch 😦
 
Give some to the kid for the headaches of growing up without a mother…

Ethical suppliers.

A vegan will only buy food that has not undergone contact with any animal products correct? The same way someone who cares for the well being of poor South America farmers might decide only to purchase fair trade products, to ensure the farmers are being paid above the usual rate for their crop?

It’s a very similar thing, some people will favor a company because they support specific causes. Here for instance I know a woman who shops exclusively for food at TESCO because of their involvement with Breast Cancer research (of which she was once a sufferer).

If you buy from a company that supports SSM, you know their profits aren’t being channeled to say an Evangelical Megachurch preaching for the criminalization of homosexuality.

Something like that would make some consider buying the product over a similar competitor, even if it was more expensive. I know it’s true for me. I actually started eating Oreos after their pro SSM campaign after realizing the brand of cookies I previously used to buy donated money to other causes (not related to SSM) I didn’t approve of.
 
Hard for me to catch commercials as I don’t have TV. I think if I did I might jump out of my skin.Remember, cycles. In one hundred years this century may be considered a century of decay.

Someone said something similar to your “this century may be considered a century of decay.” I hope it will be sooner. If I ever live till the age of 80 I hope that the generations before have come to their senses that the naive libertarian if not the hedonistic & selfish modern liberalism mentality are vacuous mentalities that should be beaten, bloodied and thrown into the trash bin of the non-recycled. But hey, we have professors specializing in Marxism and advocating it.

I’d just like the point out… The same psychology that says homosexuality isn’t a choice so, at least on a psychological level, its natural are the same people who are saying that even teenagers really can’t consent to sexual relations because their brains aren’t fully formed.

Secondly, historically, cultures that actually practice pederasty like Ancient Greece and Roman, didn’t gay marriage. The Romans had a union between same sex couples, but there were no legal protections. (It is true that Nero married a man, legally, but that was because he was Emperor and could do whatever he wanted.)

The slippery slope argument isn’t one people should use.

Oh, I won’t insist on using it, but we’ve come quite a ways down the slippery slope already. The argument for same sex marriage is that here are two people who love each other and are in every respect eligible for marriage except one of them is the wrong gender. The argument for pederast marriage is that here are two people who love each other and are in every respect eligible for marriage except that one of them is the wrong age. But age of consent legislation is an easy matter. Some underage teens can get an abortion without parental consent, but not an aspirin. And if teenagers can’t consent to sexual relations, why do we give them condoms?
