Hello, I’m looking into attending the EF on Sundays, but the only time possibly available to me is low mass at 8 AM. I have to be at morning prayer every week at 9:30 however. What I’m wondering is how long, generally, is low mass on Sundays in your experience. I’ve seen that it usually lasts around 45 min, but that is usually a weekday number. Does it get much longer Sundays? If anyone here lives in Cleveland and attends the EF, bonus points because that’s where I am. (I believe only one priest here celebrates it.)

Depends on the length of the sermon, but I’ve never attended a Low Mass which exceeded an hour.

I attend EF Mass daily, but we have a rotation of priests every day, so the length varies.

It ranges between 35-50 minutes depending on repetition of readings in English, homily and the fact that a lot of priests are still getting the hang of saying the EF Mass. (Every time there is a little slip up, I say a Glory Be that the priest is trying to serve God through this form of Mass and trying his best).

Anyway, I would say, 40 minutes is average, but Sunday could be a full hour.

It’s about a 15-20 minute drive so as long as it doesn’t go much more than an hour I should be ok. I know this is a really easy question but thanks for the help both of you 🙂
