Outline for the Above Topics

1st Moses >>> Christ
Ref. Deut.34-10-12

Joshua >>> Peter [Christ’s Prime Minister]
Ref. Deut. 34:9, Josh. 1:1-9, Josh. 4-14-24

12 Tribes >>> 11 Disciples plus Paul [as 12th man]
Ref, Josh1:10-18

Crossing the Jordan to Promise Land >> Pentecost Church
Ref. Josh. 4:22-24

Circumcision of Tribes >> Baptism/Freedom from Bondage
Ref. Josh. 5:8-9

12 Tribes given lands >> Disciples disperse to start churches
Ref. Josh. Chps. 13-19

Levites given cities/pastures >> Rome- RCC, EOC-Constan, etc
Ref. Josh. Chp. 21

Altar by the Jordan >> Paul/Peter & Gents. vs. Jerusalem Church
[Judah vs Israel] Ref. Josh. Chp. 22

Israel approves altar >> First Jeru. Council
Ref. Josh.22:34

Israel’s Apostasy >> EOC & Luther’s Schism
Ref. Judges 2:11

Judah gets David as leader >> RCC gets dynamic [final] Pope
Ref. 1Sam.16:13

Abner[Israel] & David [Judah]>> EOC/Protestants rejoin RCC
make peace covenant Ref. 2 Sam. 3:1, 17

David’s Temple is built by Solomon >> Christ rules / David’s Kingdom Ref. Rev. 1 Kings 8:14-26

Joshua >>> Peter [Christ’s Prime Minister]
Ref. Deut. 34:9, Josh. 1:1-9, Josh. 4-14-24
I’ve often thought Joshua was a Type of Christ, as well.
12 Tribes >>> 11 Disciples plus Paul [as 12th man]
Ref, Josh1:10-18
12 Tribes >>>> 12 Apostles (Matthias is the 12th man] Acts chapter 1.
Crossing the Jordan to Promise Land >> Pentecost Church
Ref. Josh. 4:22-24
Given of the 10 Commandments (“15… no, 10, 10 Commandments!”) >> Pentecost.

In Exodus, 3000 Israelites die at the hands of the Levite Swords. At Pentecost, 3000 Jews die to their old life (at the hands of the Apostles) and are born from above in Christ.
12 Tribes given lands >> Disciples disperse to start churches
Ref. Josh. Chps. 13-19
I would disagree. The Disciples disperse to start new Churches in fulfillment of the Covenant made to David.
Levites given cities/pastures >> Rome- RCC, EOC-Constan, etc
Ref. Josh. Chp. 21
I’m sorry. I don’t see this.
Altar by the Jordan >> Paul/Peter & Gents. vs. Jerusalem Church
[Judah vs Israel] Ref. Josh. Chp. 22
I’d rather not touch this one. Protestants may find my thoughts offensive.
Israel approves altar >> First Jeru. Council
Ref. Josh.22:34
I think the assignment of the 12 judges by Moses would pre-figure the 1st Jerusalem Council.
Israel’s Apostasy >> EOC & Luther’s Schism
Ref. Judges 2:11
EOC - I don’t think so. Luther’s Schism - Bingo! I think the way the Reformation has most often done away with the entire Sacrificial Elements of the Mass is pre-figured by the way Jeroboam created Temples in Dan and Bethel for the 10 northern tribes.
Judah gets David as leader >> RCC gets dynamic [final] Pope
Ref. 1Sam.16:13
I’d say Eliakim pre-figures Peter (and the Papacy), although I’m not sure what you mean by “dynamic [final] Pope”.

David, in his creation of the United Kingdom of Israel in Jerusalem (I don’t think they were still united and established in Jerusalem) pre-figures Christ.

The ones I left out, I tend to agree with, though.

True …except if Peter is elevated to Papal role, and subsequent Popes stay in Rome … that only leaves 11 leaders [disciples] to lead the individual tribes.

Didn’t Paul go to Rome with Peter … to serve under his leadership ? He’s our 12 man. Matthias is #11.

Final pope will bring about ecumenical reunion of schismatic faiths … he will need to be as dynamic a leader as David, to draw all the splintered tribes back into unity. And, that final Pope will be the one who then turns the Keys of Papacy/Church over to Christ the FINAL King.

David had blood on his hands [being a man of war] … and was unable to build Temple to the Lord. That role fell to his son Solomon. Solomon had the WISDOM. No mortal man will ever exceed his wisdom … per the OT sciptures. But, his wisdom prefigures the final King of Immortal Wisdom … who can truly ‘judge’ ALL and reign in Peace [as Solomon did].

Did not Christ call himself the Son of Man … in effect the offspring of David ? Thus, this too points to Christ returning to the role prefigured by Solomon.

But Peter was never “separated”, he was “first among the Apostles”, which means he’s still “among the Apostles”.

I wouldn’t go so far as to say Paul "served under his leadership’. “The Twelve” is a significant number (in my opinion) only in the symbolism of the restoration of the kingdom at Pentecost. Paul represented the growth as the Church became a light to the nations. He wasn’t incorporated into the twelve, he was the expansion of the twelve into the world.

This, of course, is according to the Gospel of Notworthy, mind you! 😉

Ah, I see your point. Will this ecumenical reunion bring on the 2nd coming?

Ok, I see where you are coming from. Solomon, by the way, means Peace, so you could call him “King of Peace”, eh? Now, how that pre-figures Christ, I’m not sure. (I kid, I kid!)

But back to Solomon, I can never reconcile how God gives him Wisdom, and he begins to just abuse it, losing all wisdom and piety. Maybe, its in correlation to setting up the idols and all.

Its contained in the Deposit of Faith … no doubt. No revelations have been given to the ‘Deposit’ since death of St. John. And, according to Church teaching … none can occur now.

Do the Popes / Magisterium currently know & teach of ? I’m not sure what the Church currently teaches re: second coming, rapture, millenial reign, Armageddon, etc.

Look at all the Protestants teach on this … and they clearly don’t have a clue, although claiming otherwise.

The Church never develops Dogmas … until they are needed.

Re: Solomon … just proves that Church is right to promote celibacy. Even the world’s wisest man couldn’t handle the temptations of women. 😃

Ha! Yes, if Solomon was so wise, he wouldn’t have surrounded himself with 1000 women, eh? 😉

Crossing the Jordan to Promise Land >> Pentecost Church
Ref. Josh. 4:22-24
I see a double application:
  1. Crossing the Jordan = waters of Baptism to enter the Church, God’s kingdom on earth
  2. Crossing the Jordan = passing thru death to enter the promised land of God’s kingdom in heaven.
I especially like the second application because it also encompasses the OT typology of the manna. Manna was provided as food for the Jews until the day they crossed over into the Promised Land. The Eucharistic bread is provided for Catholics until we “cross over” from earth to the next life.
Circumcision of Tribes >> Baptism/Freedom from Bondage
Ref. Josh. 5:8-9
Circumcision (initiation rite into Old Covenant for infants of Jews - and Gentile converts) =
Baptism (initiation rite into New Covenant for infants of Christians and for non-Christian converts)

Todah (Jewish Passover / Thanksgiving Meal) >>>> Eucharist
Ref. [www.google](www.google), plug in word Todah ----- read the first listed choice [Catholic Resource Center] on the topic.

Eliakim (son of Hilkiah) get the KEYS [ref. Isaiah 22:20-24] >>> Peter gets the KEYS [ref. Matthew 16:13-19]

Someone paid attention at Mass, today!!! 👍

Don’t forget what God says of Eliakim… He shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to the house of Judah.

Quick pop-quiz. Want to guess what “Pope” means?
