U2 Innocence Experience- Crucifix-less Rosary

In “One” a closeup of Bono shows he is wearing a rosary without a crucifix on it. Is he just wearing it in this song, or does anybody see if it had a crucifix earlier? I’m curious if he removed it on purpose as it is illegal to wear a crucifix in public in France.

Part of me wonders if he was so explicit about displaying it, that it was a sort of ironic statement. Fine, ban the crucifix, but it is clear he is still wearing a religious symbol around his neck- just without the crucifix. I can’t see Bono being ok with France’s Crucifix and Hijab ban.

That was my first thought too. Ban my cross? Go ahead, people still know what this is. 👍
