jennstall:
the British columnist who is apparently convinced “we must become Catholic or die” said no such thing.
The writer is a British non-believer who is reflecting on the recent terror attacks in Britain.

**“Over the past few weeks we have all read a great deal about the threat posed to our “way of life” by Muslim extremists like Muktar Said-Ibrahim. But how far has our own loss of religious faith turned this country into a soft target - not so much for the superstition Chesterton feared, but for the fanaticism of others?”
**

Perhaps you are put off by my hyperbole, but make no mistake, the writer connects the rise of terror with the decline of Catholicism.

He is saying the loss of religious faith, particularly Catholic faith - as seen in the reference to G.K. Chesterton - has made the world vulnerable to terrorism, and therefore a resurgence of the Catholic faith would make the world safer. I provided a link and anyone can follow that link to see for themselves what he said. It’s a very profound article.
