This is actually a good follow-up to St. Ignatius of Antioch’s saying: Where the bishop is, there let the people is; just as where Jesus Christ is, there is the Catholic Church.

The exact quote is
Ubi ergo Petrus, ibi Ecclesia; ubi Ecclesia, ibi nulla mors sed vita aeterna
and you find it in St. Ambroses: "In Psalmum XL Enarratio, PL XIV, 1134
