Fer cryin’ out loud. The top secret base at Roswell, New Mexico was the home of the first American atomic bomber wing. Mylar? Give me a break! The person who “identified” the balloon material was Major Jesse Marcel, who had to tell the press a little lie, namely, that the same top secret air base who announced to the press that they had captured a saucer had nothing but balloon fragments. An easy mistake – right? Right? This was nothing but a cover story for the story they really wanted spread: little alien bodies were found. That way, the public would imagine that all the military flying discs actually came from other worlds and the US Air Force would be off the hook.I have never seen a UFO, but I would like to.
If I do see one, I will post a detailed description here.
Based on my readings and viewings of photographs, for example, of the Roswell incident … it is now obvious that the Roswell UFO was a balloon. The mysterious material was clearly mylar … unknown to the public back then, but obvious now. It was used as part of a program to fly reconnaissance balloons over the Soviet Union using the jet stream. HUGE balloons carrying camera pods and flying very high over the USSR. Didn’t work really well. The balloons were made in Brooklyn, NY. The mystery markings were merely decorations on adhesive tape that was left over from a production run of Christmas wrappings. It was super top secret at the time. However, more recently one of the factory ladies who fabricated the balloons wrote her memoir and described what they did in detail.
I imagine the business about UFO’s was a story concocted by a bunch of public relations types cooped up in a conference room in some Air Force base who had to come up with something to throw off the media. Undoubtedly, IMHO, their creativity was fueled by copious amounts of Southern Comfort and the people involved had trouble breathing because they were laughing so hard and slapping their knees so hard.
I know all about Project Mogul. The Air Force has never given a satisfactory explanation of the incident because they can’t. There were no dead little aliens, although they sure wanted people to think that.
Peace,
Ed
