UGA cancels 2021 spring break due to pandemic
ATHENS, Ga. — The University of Georgia announced in a letter to students Thursday that spring break has been canceled for the 2021 school year.
Officials say classes will on January 13. They were originally slated to start on Jan. 11.
Spring break, which was originally scheduled for March 8 - 12, will be canceled. Instead, three 1-day “instructional breaks” will be added Feb. 17, March 12 and April 8.

University officials said the changes were made to “promote the health and safety of the university of Georgia and local communities during the COVID-19 pandemic.”
Last month, Georgia Tech announced it was also canceling spring break to minimize the health risk to the community due to travel-related transmission of COVID-19.
