My opinion is that diplomatic immunity should not be blanket protection against all crimes but it surely is a tricky subject. Of course, I don’t know all of the facts of this sad case. It seems to be a real injustice to the poor family of Harry’s.

This young man was stuck and killed outside of a US embassy in England by I believe is actually a wife of one of the employees there.
I’ve said prior, would driving on those roads even confuse someone use to driving in America with cars on the opposite sides of the road? I would be a bit apprehensive driving on what is over here, the wrong side of the road. Also, this accident occurred at night time if I remember correctly.
I believe diplomatic immunity is rather solid but there should probably be some exceptions. My heart goes out to the family. I believe there have already been “exceptions” applied to diplomatic immunity, it’s not solidly that you can do something and get away with it.

Harry Dunn’s alleged killer could be tried on British soil by holding virtual proceedings in the British embassy in the US, according to his family’s lawyer.
The family and Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) lawyers are negotiating a “virtual” trial in which Anne Sacoolas would remain in the US but be tried under UK law via video link for causing the death of Mr Dunn, 19, by her allegedly dangerous driving in August last year.
Mark Stephens, the family’s lawyer, told The Telegraph that one option was the “virtual” end of her trial to be held in a room in “a British embassy – because that is UK territory that makes the whole process easier.”
