Im Ukr catholic, and attend a roman catholic church (because there are no eastern rite churches near by…no choice). When I see things in the RC church and ask questions I’m immediately told I’m bashing…or I’m orthodox I have no business there…etc.

How can I ask a true question?

Sorry to hear about your experience with that.

Sadly, many people do not understand the richness and diversity of rites within our Catholic family. You may wish to gently tell/remind them that there are 20+ rites celebrated within the Catholic Church, and none of them are any less Catholic for not being Latin.

If you have questions though, this is definitely the place for them! There are lots of people here familiar with the Eastern rites, so you won’t be accused of bashing if you have anything to ask. 🙂

Did a Roman rite clergy tell you that (“You have no business here…”)

There are “mission” Eastern rite church that are over the map. Where exactly do you live? Would you consider worshiping with Ruthenians? or Melkites? I, myself, am officially a Melkite and subject to the Newton Massachusetts Eparchy. There are Ruthenian and Melkite “mission” churches providing families a way to preserve their ancient traditions.

For example, Seattle has a Melkite “mission” church with its own assigned priest under our Bishop Samra.

Good luck!

At the hands of Christians no less.

Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Sorry to hear this. What questions have you asked that they considered “bashing”?

You might call your chancery and see if there are any bi-ritual priests in your area. If there are any they may be helpful to you.
