Civil authorities are almost all Greko Catolics. In L’vov has not been possible to build even one new Orthodox church. Currently only one remains - St. George Victorybringer - which overflows each day with faithful. City government will not provide land for new church. Therefore, only new Orthodox church has to be “set up” in a privately owned factory just so people can worship.

Many protestors at Government city of L’vov are getting no help. Western Catolics must understand that these Lvov GrekoCatolics are very nationalistic Western Ukrainians who feel more close to Polish than to even Ukrainians of central Ukraina not even to consider those of Eastern Ukraina and Western Rossia. Look in Engish on-line language sources how Orthodox church suffers in Lvov,

This is very true,Philaret also has made things not so good for any of us he is working hard to take parishes from other jurisdictions UAOC Mefodyi also has been hurt by K.P. I read that Husar wants Orthodox and greek cath, TO unite as one under the E.P. Who has no right to even be in Ukraine his goal is to try and take all under him we are not Greek we are Ukrainian and we do not need the E.P. trying to get into Ukraine.

Funny, as this was posting, I was on my way to pilgrimage to St. Mary’s in Minneapolis, where St. Alexis Toth (born not far off from L’vov/L’viw) led his people back to Holy Orthodoxy (I had just come from San Francisco, where Holy Orthodoxy entered into the United States). Soo, what about when the boot is neither on an Orthodox nor Latin foot?

We meaning Ukrainians should consider unity with Patriarch Husar,our Orthodox church in Ukraine its leadership is very un educated when it comes to unity the real problem is self glory all want to be the higest ranking in the church it took me 20 yrs to be just Archimandrite today Bishops will make you anything you want for a $ i know this as fact,Iam writting a book BEHIND THE ROYAL DOORS,in which will tell the real truth about the hierarchy.
If you only knew what changes hands i shutter thinking that these men must one day answer to God then what? a change of under wear for sure.Our true Bishops have died to old or can not do anything from fear.Please God Help them,for they KNOW WHAT THEY DO!!

Actually, he was born near Eperjes, Austria-Hungary, now Presov, Slovakia. He was the rector of the Greek Catholic Seminary in Presov and not everyone considers him to be a saint…

I’m aware of that. I’m also aware that Presov is just over a hundred miles of Lviv, just the other side of the Carpathians, so definitely in the neighborhood, especially as Lviv at the time was also Austria-Hungary at the time.

Oh, BTW, Orthodoxy in North America started in Alaska, NOT San Francisco…

Alaska strechted down to Sonoma CA (the British argued with the Americans that the purchase of Alaska didn’t give the US the entire coast to Washington). When the Russians left Fort Ross there, an Orthodox community stayed (Russian Hill in SF is named after a satellite RO cemetary), finding itself incorporated when the US (I did specify United States) annexed the territory. The RO made Alaska its own diocese in 1870, after the sale of Alaska (the first article of the treaty of sale guarentees protection of the Orthodox Church, a part the US did not live up to), which moved its see to SF in 1872, elevating a parish established in SF in 1857 to cathedral status, which it retains. Hence St. Alexis and the other priests “doxing” went to St. Tikhon there.

I will be in Ukraine in March and hold Divine Liturgy in Lvov I would like to invite you to attend at this time we are working very hard in having more Liturgy in Western Ukraine.By Gods Grace we will, it is much harder now for Ukrainian goverment to give American Ukrainians problems we are much more educated in the fact of religious freedom.Ukraine must change if they want to be accepted as apart of the EU.Thanks to some Bishops it has made the situation even worse,but in time all will prevail.
If there is anything I can do let me know via e-mail. I WAS THINKING OF GOING BACK AND STAYING FOR A FEW MONTHS THEN RETURNING BACK TO USA,it would be easier for me to see things first hand so we know the true facts.Primate Husar is not making things any easier for any of us,he has changed why was it so (name removed by moderator)ortant to move to Kiev,he knew it would only cause more problems,his hurch history was Western Ukraine now we have 3 Patriarchs in Kiev why I ask? I feel Western Ukraine is most important our history is there the fact is Western Ukrine should have become a country within its self.as we were divided during the war and no or should I say may Ukrainians as you know hate us.Eastern Ukraine Kiev and others look down upon us.at least when we are in Lvov we d not think we are in Russia as one would when visiting Kiev.My very first trip to Ukraine I had no idea of what was going on do to the fact that when I spoke Ukrainian no one really understood me they looked as if Iwas from the moon,Iwas told by other clergy not to use Ukrainian at liturgy OLD slovanic was the norm at liturgy,most all the clergy in Kiev did not really know how to serve in our native tongue,but Western Ukraine no problem.In 1996 we were watched and followed in Kiev by agents it was funnie like the key stone cos! you could tell with out question they were watching us.Our Lord is not Happy with us,We only can pray and ask God and th Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with pure honest and true love for all this can be the only answer.
