I recently posted the intention below for my family members in purgatory:

Praying for my deceased parents, family members and friends
that they will make it to purgatory.

Even if a soul was not worthy of reaching purgatory on their own, prayers for them
by the living can send them there and eventually to Heaven. Divine Mercy Chaplet
and Divine Mercy Novena prayers are especially helpful. At the time of their
judgment, Jesus will take into account all the prayers said for that person weather
the prayers are said before or after their death. God knows all and knows all the
prayers said for someone even before they are said. He can merit our future said
prayers to someone who has already passed. So never give up praying for a
deceased love one. You can pray them into purgatory even after they have died.
Include them in every Chaplet and Rosary intention if you want to see them in Heaven.
