What do people see in that show? Bruce Jenner now identifies as female, for crying out loud!

Um, you seem kind of obsessed with the entertainment industry. Every thread, every single thread is about a celebrity.
Why?

Just curious.

Well, people, I can’t say that I’ve ever really watched Keeping up with the Kardashians. However, I have watched entire episodes of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. No offense, but does a woman make a Faustian bargain by agreeing to appear as a “housewife” on the latter show?

guilty as charged. I don’t understand why I do, but I do.
they are a vain bunch!

my days of watching them might be numbered though as I understand they visit a Planned Parenthood in one episode and compliment them on their organization. this could be next season.
I certainly don’t admire this family for many things. I think their ratings are down anyway. I do feel sorry for Rob.
I understand Kylie is set to have her own show soon.

why were you asking?

I don’t have a TV and didn’t realize that show existed until you mentioned it. However, I do have a computer and NetFlix. I’m very selective about what I watch.

They are entertaining - just not in the way they probably picture entertainment.

How can you take any of them seriously? It really is a comedy about wealthy and shallow people who are consumed with how they look and they are consumed by their
own celebrity.

Avoid watching filth. Don’t encourage others other to watch filth. Avoid giving it free publicity by writing about it on the internet.

I hope no one is taking it seriously!

People seem to forget, shows on tv are NOT REAL ( in ANY sense), they all have writers, scripts, etc. these actors are playing a part, when they are doing all these crazy things, they are ‘in character’, this is NOT how these people are when the cameras are turned off. Its very strange Hollywood has convinced so many people these shows and characters are real.

Miley Cirus is a good example, when the cameras are on, she is portraying a hard partying, sex crazed wild person, but when the cameras are off, she is a very successful entertainer, she is paid millions of dollars to ‘perform’ and be a certain thing, all to target a certain group of the population. These people have teams that specialize in making their character image seem as real as possible.

These shows are definitely scripted! This is the only “reality” TV show I watch.
Except for Welcome to Sweetie Pie’s about the soul food restaurant owner from
St. Louis who used to be a back up singer for Ike and Tina Turner.

Um, will ads be pulled because of the episode?

In a couple of homilies our deacon has compared Kardashian obsession with the decline of civilization - and only slightly tongue-in-cheek. Personally I’d rather a root canal than watch that show.

I have never had a root canal, but considering how much I hate going to the dentist,
an hour of Keeping Up With the Kardashians would have to be my choice. 🙂
