Um, does Gov. Andrew Cuomo sound like Al Pacino to some extent?

Um, why would this matter? Because they’re NY’ers? Because they’re Italian Americans?
Seriously, why is this of interest? What answer could there be other than “yes he does” or “no he doesn’t”?

Not all native New Yorkers sound the same.

Fran Drescher was born in New York, she doesn’t sound like Diane Lane for example.

He does remind me a bit of Tony Montana, when he is on his arrogant power trips. 😁

I do admit that Al Pacino, who recently turned 80, would be too old to play Andrew Cuomo, who is nearly two decades Pacino’s junior.

Related to this thread: when did starting questions with “Um” become a thing? It comes across as a mixture of condescension and millennial cuteness, and I for one think it’s a stupid affectation. Much like wearing baseball caps backwards, but that’s another discussion.

I think he may want to be very careful what he says about God.

I think people use it sometimes to indicate a pause, but I don’t see how that would apply in the way it’s used here. It’s a mystery to me, too.

I have wondered this same thing every single time I have seen it.

Um, perhaps as important:

Does Chris Cuomo sound like John Cazale?
