Um, should "Airwolf" get rebooted?

Not the whole show. Just the theme. That is an awesome theme. I loved the show when I was a kid, for the reasons that kids love things. I don’t think I’d watch it now, for the same reasons.

It’s on one of the local cable oldies stations, it’s pretty dated. I don’t think the Macgyver reboot worked, so probably won’t see this one…wasn’t there one with Roy Schnieder and a police helicopter at one time? Can’t recall the name…

The late Roy Scheider did star in a helicopter-oriented feature film entitled Blue Thunder. However, he didn’t appear in the subsequent TV series of the same name.

Brings back memories to watch that intro again, I used to watch it all the time as a kid, but looking at it now, it seems kind of boring and predictable…bad guys planning bad things, then near the end, the airwolf comes out and surprises them and foils their plans.

Sadly I think kids today would loose interest in 5 minutes.

Thanks! That’s the one! I guess I remembered the movie more than the series!

Blue Thunder! It was a feature film though, not a television series.

Added: seeing from the above, I guess it was both.

I don’t remember Airwolf the tv series being all that interesting. Jan Michael Vincent was cool, though. I knew about him because he had a pretty big role in the television mini-series Winds of War with Robert Mitchum (I think he was Mitchum’s character’s son).

Having no idea what Airwolf even is, I’m going to assume it’s about a wolf who can dunk.

It’s about an army test pilot named Stringfellow Hawke, who is hired by “The Company” (apparently supposed to be the CIA) to steal back a super helicopter prototype (The Airwolf) that has been stolen from the government. Anyway, Hawke gets the helicopter back, and steals it himself until the government can tell him what happened to his brother St. John (pronounced “Sinjin”) Hawke, who was listed as MIA in Vietnam. “The Company” sets up a deal with Hawke, whereby he won’t be pursued for stealing the helicopter, as long as he agrees to perform covert missions in Airwolf for “The Company”. “The Company” also agrees to try to find out what happened to St. John.

Ernest Borgnine plays sidekick/copilot/father figure Dominick Santini, who is a commercial stunt pilot.

The Theme music is awesome. The show had one of the best themes ever, ranking just behind “Hawaii Five-0” and in front of “Crockett’s Theme” from “Miami Vice”. Look it up on Youtube. You won’t be sorry.

Can any CAF members imagine Michael Bay directing and/or producing a feature-film adaption of Airwolf? 😃

Sadly, your advice makes absolutely too much sense to be followed by the pack of necrophiliac tomb-raiders of our past popular culture who are busy ransacking each and every half-remembered television series for profit.

Should Airwolf get adapted into a feature film, or should there be another Blue Thunder feature film instead?

I had a huge crush on JMV back then, never missed an episode of AirWolf, and loved him in WoW.
Just thinking of both bring back so many memories! 😃

But, absolutely NOT to a re-boot!
Just the thought of it makes me shudder!
