Unapproved apparations books

I have several items from an unapproved apparation. The apparation is Mej.
Can I give the books to a charity shop? What shall I do with the chaplet?

I would treat them as I would any other sacramental or something from an approved apparition. All approved apparitions were once unapproved . . .

I wouldn’t give the books to a charity shop; I would be concerned they would fall into the wrong hands, i.e. anyone, Catholic or Protestant, who may end up thinking that this is the what Catholics really think, teach. You have to decide if you are okay with putting questionable materials out to possibly undiscerning people.

I don’t like throwing things away. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, doncha know? But sometimes the dumpster is the only right home for some things.

I don’t know enough about the chaplet to offer an opinion.

I just noticed IrishAms post…I don’t know if the book are considered sacrementals. If so, burn or bury versus throwing them in the trash.

The fact that an apparition is not “approved” does not mean that it is invalid unless there is a specific ruling from the Church proclaiming it invalid. That is not the case here as far as I know. And as previously noted, all apparitions were unapproved at some point.

All appartions, even those considered “approved” are non-binding to belief. Different people are touched in different ways by them and even an unapproved one may have deep effects on some people. I am aware of many people whose faith has been deepend by Medjugorje. Each person must discern, with whatever guidance the Church may offer, what weight to give to any personal revelation.

If you want to give them to a charity shop, I would see no problem with that. Who knows whose faith you might strengthen in some way.
